'He's certainly no Ellen': Trevor Noah may REPLACE James Corden on 'The Late Late Show'
American host James Corden announced a while back that he would leave his CBS talk show, 'The Late Late Show', in 2023 after an eight-year run. As per reports, South African comedian Trevor Noah may possibly join the show after Corden's exit.
"It's been it's a really hard decision to leave because I'm so immensely proud of the show. I'm thrilled to be extending [for a year]. I always thought I'd do it for five years and then leave, and then I stayed on. I've really been thinking about it for a long time, thinking whether there might be one more adventure," Corden told Deadline about his decision in April 2022.

A source told The Sun, "Most of the crew found out the day before everyone else that James was leaving, and everyone will be sad to see him go. The main name floating around behind the scenes at the moment is Trevor Noah, he'd be perfect and has more than enough experience. James has another year left and it is not clear what Trevor's current contract is with The Daily Show, but his name has been mentioned a lot by senior staffers."
According to the insider, Noah would have his work cut out if he joined as the main host or one of many, as James has taken 'The Late Late Show' to new heights and been a great boss. "He's certainly no Ellen, he is loved by everyone who has worked with him. In the pandemic, he sent a lot of gifts to staffers and made sure they were all paid. He goes out of his way to make sure he doesn't come across as an a***hole," the source added.

The network is reportedly exploring a number of options, and it is in "early days." Meanwhile, insiders told Variety that CBS is considering replacing Corden's distinct program with a multi-host panel. As per reports, it's "very likely" executive producer Ben Winston and his team will stay on to develop the new show with talent. "Ben is the real brains behind the operation and is really taking Hollywood by storm at the minute."
"There's no greater compliment than a channel scrapping a show altogether when a host leaves, never mind replacing a solo show with a panel format. Talk about Corden's shoes being too big to fill!" the source concluded. Noah, 38, who is a host and a political commentator apart from being a comedian, has presented 'The Daily Show' on Comedy Central since 2015.

"My bosses here at CBS have been incredibly supportive and extraordinarily patient with me while I made this decision. There's still some other things that I feel I want to do. I'd like to try and write. There's some [stories] I'd like to tell. I'd like to see if I'm capable of it. The fact that it's terrifying is the reason to do it," Corden told Deadline.
"Out of respect for all of the [staff], I want to tell them that now and say that we can really go into this last year with absolute enthusiasm and passion and love. These shows are not built by one person. I'm very fortunate I get to work with some people whose talents and gifts just blow my mind," he added.
