When is Rwandan film ‘Trees Of Peace’ releasing and where can you watch it?

The multiple awards winning film ‘Trees Of Peace’ is going to be released globally by June 10, 2022, on Netflix at 3.01 am EST.

What is ‘Trees Of Peace’ all about?

The film tells about the horrific event that is the Rwandan genocide of Tutsi minority ethnic group by the armed soldiers which shook the entire world in 1994. It revolves around four women from different backgrounds. These four women named Annick (Elliane Umuhire), Jeannette (Charmaine Bingwa), Peyton (Ella Cannon) and Mutesi (Bola Koleosho) who are all petrified from genocides hide themselves underneath a small hiding place beneath a kitchen area. Whilst the course of staying together, they all form unbreakable bonds of sisterhood with each other during the gore-filled Rwandan genocides. The poster of the film gives a message of these four women daring to reach the light and hoping for a better tomorrow as their hands are upwards.

The official synopsis reads, “Four women from different backgrounds forge an unbreakable sisterhood while trapped and in hiding during the genocide in Rwanda. Inspired by true events”.

Who stars in ‘Trees Of Peace’?

Charmaine Bingwa as Jeannette

The 36-years-old Australian starlet Charmaine Bingwa has been loved by fans for her portrayal of Carmen Moyo in the CBS television drama ‘The Good Fight’. She has also acted in films like ‘Black Box’, ‘Nekrotronic’, ‘The Pitch’ and so on. She is going to be seen playing the lead role of Jeannette in much awaited Rwandan true-story-based film ‘Trees Of Peace’ releasing globally on Netflix.



 

Rest of the actors in ‘Trees Of Peace’ include Elliane Umuhire, Ella Cannon, Bola Koleosho and several others.

Creators

The movie which won multiple awards at the American Black Film Festival and Santa Barbara International Film Festival has been directed, and written by Alanna Brown. It marks Alanna Brown’s directorial debut. The film has been produced by Brian Baniqued, Alanna Brown, Mike Bundlie, Barry Levine, Vicky Petela, Ron Ray as well as Jeffrey Spiegel.
