'Treadstone' Episode 3 promo pictures hint at John Bentley's arrest after his risky escape
'Treadstone' episode three's promo pictures are out it and they feature an interesting twist for CIA agent John R Bentley (Jeremy Irvine). The first operative to be tested by Dr Meisner, Bentley finally made an escape from KGB's hold in 1973. He made his way back to the CIA and was under the assumption that he was being held by the Soviet Union for just one week. However, he learns in episode two that he was held by Petra and Dr Meisner for about nine months during which time he doesn't remember a lot of things that were done to him.
The absence of certain memories in him lead the CIA to doubt his loyalties. When he appeared in front of the West Berlin Station Chief Dennis Kohler and was unable to answer questions regarding the kind of operations that he had received he was almost placed under remand. Before that could take place, however, Bentley managed to escape by pointing a gun at Kohler, followed by which he also blackmailed his friend Ferguson at gunpoint to help him escape from the CIA facility. He managed to get on the lift and while he walked out, he attacked a few other officers and Ferguson to ensure his friend will not be suspected of helping him.
In the wake of this, the pictures that were released by USA Network of the next episode show a different story. What if Kohler managed to catch up with Bentley before he exited the CIA facility? One of the pictures from episode three features Kohler pulling a gun at Bentley who is visibly unarmed and also there is a look of surprise on his face. This could mean that Bentley did not expect to see Kohler and is so is caught by surprise before he could arm himself.
Bentley, while answering Kohler's question about being under Petra's control said that he had strangely felt complete. This is one of the main reasons why Bentley is doubted by the CIA. So to see pictures featuring Bentley possibly being brought under custody would mean that the CIA gets a chance to observe up and close the subject of Cicada Protocol, which is now known as Treadstone. This third episode could very well answer the question about how the CIA got its hand on the technology of an operation that was solely undertaken by KGB.
'Treadstone' episode three will air on Tuesday at 10 pm ET on USA Network.
