'Treadstone' Episode 2 sees Dae in Colonel Shin’s pocket, potentially to be used against So-Hyun in upcoming episodes

After meeting with Shin, Dae confessed to his wife, who had just a while ago broached the topic of defecting to South Korea, that he has been promoted. He tells her the promotion happened because he was the one to have figured out that General Kwon had betrayed North Korea

'Treadstone' Episode 2 revealed So-Hyun (Han Hyo-joo) was woken up by none other than her husband Dae's boss Colonel Shin. When So-Hyun tried to learn who had put the game console that woke her up in her son's locker, her son confesses that he lied.

The console was not left in a locker as he had claimed. It was given to him by a man who had blackmailed him into giving it to his mother. Later that day, when her husband, Dae's, boss comes to invite him for a drink, So-Hyun's son tells his mother that the man who gave him the console was none other than Colonel Shin.

The only assignment that So-Hyun has completed since she woke up is to have assassinated General Kwon and surprisingly, she finds a connection between her husband and the operation. When Dae returned home, he confessed to his wife, who had just a while ago broached the topic of defecting to South Korea, that he has been promoted.

He tells her the promotion happened because he was the one to have figured out that General Kwon had betrayed North Korea. He then tipped his senior officials which then led to the General being removed, and to his promotion as well.

Dae also adds that So-Hyun can never again speak about leaving or escaping in the future. Now that So-Hyun realizes Dae's boss is the one to have woken her up and has already used her skills once, she also understands that he holds a huge bargaining chip when it comes to dealing with her.

Her husband is now under his control and anything she does against Colonel Shin would affect her husband. It could even lead to his death as it did with General Kwon. While this connection has been revealed, what needs to be further explored is Colonel Shin's connection to the organization that is waking up the sleeper agents across the world.

In the second episode, it was also clear that the agents to wake up were not only So-Hyun and Doug McKenna (Brian J Smith), but also others. This came to light when CIA agent Matt Edwards (Omar Metwally) investigated a behavioral modification specialist, Dr. Martin Wells (Finbar Lynch), who had in his possession grainy security footage of a man killing individuals in a grocery store.

At first sight, it seemed like the man who shot at people was just a maniac, until Edwards looks closely and sees patterns that match with someone being trained by a covert operatives team. So, are there more individuals like Colonel Shin placed around the world and working for this organization that is waking people up?

We will learn more in the upcoming episode of 'Treadstone' which will air on Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET on the USA Network.
