'Transatlantic’: Episode 4 of Netflix historical drama comes with hefty secrets and major betrayal
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Transatlantic', a highly anticipated historical drama series, is now out on Netflix. The show's cast includes Gillian Jacobs, Lucas Englander, Cory Michael Smith, and Ralph Amoussou, among others. It highlights historical moments from World War II. The series is based on the book 'The Flight Portfolio' by Julie Orringer.
The period drama traces the true story of a heroic rescue team led by American journalist Varian Fry, who, along with his supporters and the Emergency Rescue Committee (ERC), helped thousands of refugees flee Nazi-occupied France. The seven-episode series is co-created by Anna Winger, known for 'Unorthodox', and Daniel Hendler. The various episodes of the series are directed by Stephanie Chuat, Veronique Reymond, and Mia Meyer. Winger is also producing 'Transatlantic' alongside Camille McCurry.

Mary Jayne's betrayal
As the Nazis arrive in France, the Americans are arrested and put on a boat, which includes Varian Fry, Mary Jayne, and Thomas. As they meet each other, Fry finds out about Jayne's betrayal. She is working with the British to rescue the PoWs, and even Thomas is involved. Mary Jayne tries to explain to Fry why she is taking this road. On the other hand, Albert Hirschman takes on the mission to get Walter Mehring, a wanted man out of the city.
Mary Jayne's secret mission
Mary Jayne and Thomas find a way to get the PoWs out of France. She compromises the only route they had through the border of Spain by drawing a map on a magazine and giving it to the PoWs. By the end, Lisa reveals that their secret route has been revealed and compromised. Gold's secret mission for money puts her team at risk as they now lose their only way out.
