Is Tom Grennan OK? British singer attacked and robbed in NYC, forced to postpone show
British singer Tom Grennan won't be performing at the Miracle Theatre on April 22, 2022. The show has been postponed following a violent attack and robbery on the singer in Manhattan early on April 21, 2022. The exact circumstances aren't clear, but reports say he was violently robbed "outside a bar in Manhattan", leading to him being hospitalized.
The attack on Grennan is part of a larger string of robberies and violent crimes in New York City, which has become a major headache for the NYPD. On March 17, video footage showed a gang of dirt bikers brutally beating a man and his son in Harlem, before robbing them. Days later, thieves were caught on CCTV stealing bulletproof vests meant to go to Ukraine. Earlier in February, thieves broke into a Brooklyn home, hog-tied the resident, and stole his watch collection worth $350,000.

In most cases, the suspects still remain at large, with the NYPD struggling to cope with the rising rate of crime. It is unclear if the police have a suspect in the incident with Grennan. The violent attack has forced the singer to remain in hospital and puts the rest of his tour in doubt.
Is Tom Grennan ok?
According to Grennan's manager John Dawkins, "Tom is currently in hospital being assessed by doctors for his injuries... Despite this Tom is in good spirits but needs to temporarily recuperate whilst doctors assess his ability to continue with touring." Dawkins said the singer suffered from a "ruptured ear, torn eardrum and issue with his previously fractured jaw," as a result of the attack.
According to reports, the singer was attacked following a performance at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on April 20, 2022. The exact location of the attack was not revealed, nor did Dawkins reveal what the singer was robbed of. So far, we have also not received a police statement indicating the status of the investigation. All we know is that Grennan is in the hospital, and is likely to be there for some time.
As a result, his upcoming shows could be postponed. Grennan was due to perform in Washington DC on April 22, but that show has been pushed to "a later date", with no further details mentioned. Following that, he was due to perform at Brighton Music Hall in Boston on April 23, Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco on April 24, and The Troubador in Los Angeles on April 27. So far, there's been no word on those planned performances, but an update could be issued soon.
Unless the injuries are extremely severe, Grennan's British leg is unlikely to be affected, given that there is a month-long break between the US leg and his UK leg. On social media, the singer received a lot of sympathy with reactions like "Sending love to @Tom_Grennan, get well soon and hope the a------s are caught and prosecuted" and "Some b------s in this world. Couldn’t of happened to a nicer bloke. Sending all my love!" A third replied, "Oh my god Jesus... I'm in shock. What the hell is going on on this f-----g planet?!! I have no words. Just get well soon Tom."
