ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA: A toddler got himself embroiled in a funny yet problematic situation after his mother fell asleep. Wyatt Taylor had to take a nap with his mother Courtney on Thursday, August 25, but instead he did something mischievous that needed firefighters to step in.

The one-year-old got his neck stuck inside a potty seat, which was hanging on his grandmother's wall unit. After Courtney woke up, she found the baby in a very weird situation. She first tried to get it off his son’s neck with the help of Wyatt's grandmother, Donna, but failed.

She told Daily Mail Australia, "[I was] definitely freaked out but I just made sure I kept him calm until help arrived. I tried to see how far it would go but once I knew it was completely stuck on his head I didn't try anymore until help arrived. I didn't want to pry it off him as he was distressed enough. Unfortunately we are moving and a lot of stuff went into storage - we had packed our screwdrivers.”

The family also tried to get help from neighbors but when nothing worked out they dialed triple-0. Until then, little Taylor fell asleep while the potty lid hung around his neck. Soon a fire truck arrived to help the little one. As per reports, emergency crew had thought that the tot had actually got down in a real toilet but soon realized that it was a lid.

The Daily Mail reported that they "soon unscrewed the lid to set Wyatt free. Once it was off, it was the toddler's turn for a big nap." Courtney added, "Kids definitely keep you on your feet that's for sure. It was definitely embarrassing but a laugh, and something I'll never let him forget."

However, this is not the first such incident. Earlier in 2020, a two-year-old found himself stuck in a similar situation. Reuben Paull reportedly put the toilet seat around his neck while being at home with his mother Abbie. The Mirror reported that Abbie "only turned her back for a few seconds before Rueben arrived with the seat and was unable to lift it back off his little head."

The mother then informed the child’s father, Jake, and the duo then tried to get the seat off Reuben’s neck. However, after failing, the father had to use a hacksaw and cut the plastic to free the child. However, it was also not an easy task for Reuben to keep his head in one place while dad worked was really a big thing.

More recently, in January, a similar incident took place in North East England’s County Durham. Little Edward’s head also got stuck in a toilet training seat and then also, firefighters helped him. The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said, as reported by BBC, "It was not your 'bog' standard rescue. Somehow, he had managed to get his training seat stuck round his head, but our crews got to work quickly and managed to release him in no time.”
