'Titans' Season 3 will continue having two major villains with Blackfire and Lex Luthor expected to stir trouble for the young heroes next

The two villains in Season 2 never really interacted, which made the storylines feel too disconnected. This is something the show could certainly fix in Season 3 and we'd love to see Lex and Blackfire working together, perhaps as part of a brand new Legion of Doom.

'Titans' has successfully wrapped up its second season and with it, the show has already opened up a host of possibilities for Season 3. Now that Deathstroke / Slade Wilson (Esai Morales) and Mercy Graves (Natalie Gumede) have been taken out of the equation, it's time for new villains to step in and it looks like Season 3 is going to be bigger than ever.

Once Season 3 comes along, 'Titans' is going to have a (mostly) clean slate to work with. As things stand right now, Blackfire (Damaris Lewis) and Lex Luthor are expected to serve as antagonists for the upcoming season. It has already been confirmed that Damaris Lewis will be a series regular for Season 3 and the final "bonus" scene of Season 2 revealed that Blackfire is already on Earth.

The Lex Luthor situation is still a bit uncertain. Though he has been mentioned a number of times throughout Season 3, especially in connection to his "son" Superboy / Conner Kent (Joshua Orpin), the maniacal mastermind is yet to actually appear on the show in person.

However, Lex did make an ominous phone call in the Season 2 finale and even though we didn't hear what he said, we'd bet it wasn't anything good. Considering Mercy has failed to take down the Titans and embarrassed Luthor's name in the process, it's very likely that Lex will be stepping in to deal with the young heroes himself.

Having two major villains in a season isn't new for 'Titans', considering they did the same thing in Season 2. However, the two villains in Season 2 never really interacted, which made the storylines feel too disconnected. This is something the show could certainly fix in Season 3 and we'd love to see Lex and Blackfire working together, perhaps as part of a brand new Legion of Doom.

'Titans' Season 3 doesn't have a release date yet but it is expected to premiere in the fall of 2020. All episodes of Season 2 are currently available for streaming exclusively on DC Universe.
