'Titans' Season 3 Episode 7 Spoilers: Blackfire joins the superhero club
Spoilers for 'Titans' Season 3 Episode 7 '51%'
The latest episode of 'Titans' Season 3 had quite the storyline, and in what comes as a welcome move, gives a couple of things for the superheroes to celebrate, including a new member to the team in Blackfire.
The last few episodes saw the Titans take a beating mentally at the hands of Dr Jonathan Crane aka Scarecrow (Vincent Kartheiser) as he pits a brain-washed and drug-addicted Jason Todd (Curran Walters) against his own team. Assuming the mantle of the Red Hood, Jason is directly responsible for the death of Hank (Alan Ritchson). '51%' follows the team hunting for Crane and shutting down his plan of mass distributing the drugs across Gotham. While Barbara Gordon (Savannah Welch) and Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) work together, Kory (Anna Diop), Connor (Joshua Orpin), Gar (Ryan Potter) and Blackfire (Damaris Lewis) interrogate some gangsters about Crane's plans.

With Crane's hideout found, the team suits up and heads to the Snowy Cones Ice Cream factory that operates as the criminal mastermind's base where the drugs are manufactured. And with Kory and Blackfire reconciling, the former gives her Tamaran bracelets back as a sign of acceptance. Blackfire suits up and helps the Titans put an end to Crane's operation as he and Todd beat a hasty retreat.
This win comes as a much-needed break for the superheroes who have had quite a difficult season so far with each of them fighting internal battles. Gar had a hard time coming to terms that Jason had turned against his own team and become a killer. Dawn (Minka Kelly) leaves following Hank's death, while Kory struggled to come to terms with her sister, Blackfire. That said, Jason is still a threat.
Talking about his move away from the Titans, showrunner Greg Walker told EW that the former Robin was keen on exacting revenge against his old team. "He's not part of the Titans. He's been cast away," he said.
"And this notion of, 'Be careful who you cast away because they will come back to haunt you,' comes true on our show. If you've been trained to be a warrior by Batman, you're necessarily over-trained in violence and under-trained in emotional connection. And so when this emotional tsunami hit him, the Titans didn't step up in a way to help him out of it and that plays out this season, the consequences of that."
'Titans' Season 3 Episode 7 is currently streaming on HBO Max.
