A virtually famous feline by the name Pot Roast made her way to cat heaven on February 16, 2022. She gave in to her battle against feline AIDS. After the owner shared a heartbreaking post on their TikTok, thousands of TikTok users that watched Pot Roast online mourned the loss of the four-legged star.

In a video of Pot Roast and her owner, the owner captioned it as, "My little bird flew away at 11:47 am this morning" as she announced the death of her beloved furry friend. Pot Roast earned its nickname as the 'taxidermy cat' because of her adorably listless and infrequently stiff-limbed actions, she almost acted like a corpse corpse, and her owner frequently referred to her as her “taxidermy” cat.

The owner @potroastsmom said, "When I saw Pot Roast this morning I could feel that she was done fighting and even though I wasn’t done fighting for her I let her go." She added, "She went to sleep in my arms." Concluding this on a beautiful note, the owner said, "In the end, it was just her and me. And I am grateful for every moment we had together."

Just one day before the sad demise, on February 15, the owner revealed that Pot Roast had been back to the vet hospital. The owner shared with viewers, "She had a second blood transfusion yesterday and a seizure from low blood sugar last night." She continued, "They are monitoring her and possibly going to give a third blood transfusion. I don't know how much time we have left and I don't want to spend it on social media so I am going to distance myself."

Towards the end of January 2022, the owner made a video about "All the things I know she likes." as she feared Pot Roast "might be nearing the end" As per older videos, it seems like Pot Roast contracted the feline immunodeficiency virus from the owner's other cat, Carrot. The infection attacks the cat’s immune system and Pot Roast's owner revealed the virus had progressed to her bone marrow and that her body was no longer producing red or white blood cells. Although FIV is contagious to other cats, the virus does not typically transmit by eating in the same bowl, social grooming, sneezing and other regular cat behaviors. Cats often get infected by the virus once they get a deep bite from other infected felines.

Fans of Pot Roast mourned the feline's passing. One said, "It’s muddy and gross so I had Arrowe stay in the house and watch his show while I walked jasper to the bus across the street. Arrowe let the cat out for fun and then jasper was crying as I’m chasing the cat as a line full of cars watched me. And pot roast is dead"

Another said, "Finding out pot roast the cat from tiktok is dead is the worst thing that has ever happened to me"

This user said, "I dont cry a lot, but learning Pot Roast is dead has me unironically on the floor sobbing. my mental health was hanging on by a thread, and that thread was Pot Roast the famous tiktok cat" Another fan wrote: "I DONT WANT TO LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT POT ROAST THE TAXIDERMY CAT." "Pot Roast the Cat is dead, and I legitimately feel like I have lost a family member. Fly high taxidermied angel," shared another.
