Even though the last two episodes of ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 have been about Kate’s wedding and Kevin finding his true love, one thing that really made us worry was about Miguel’s health struggle as well. So, tonight’s episode gave us a very good look at how Miguel’s life has been. From his childhood to meeting Rebecca (Mandy Moore), Miguel has seen a lot of difficulties in his life. Coming to the US is always tricky, but his family came here and started their lives here.

He did all the hard work and became successful. He got a good home, an amazing car, and also, got a beautiful girlfriend named Shelly. We also see how Rebecca never used to like Miguel (Jon Huertas) initially because she thought that he was trying to be funny all the time. As the time progressed, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), Rebecca, and Miguel became good friends. Miguel met Shelly in a restaurant and a few months later, they get engaged. But soon after marriage, their relationship became sour and they started fighting.

'This Is Us' Season 6 Episode 13: Rebecca's health struggles reveal the end is near

We all know how Miguel helped Rebecca after Jack’s tragic death. When Rebecca felt that it was always Miguel, he moved to Houston. Eight years after Miguel returned and contacted Rebecca through Facebook. They start talking to each other and re-connect. The duo decides to meet and Miguel finally tells Rebecca that he felt really homesick when he left her on the porch that day. Rebecca comes next to him and kisses him. She says, “It’s nice to see you, Miguel”. Without a doubt, this was one of the most amazing moments of the ongoing season. It was lovely, heartfelt, and showed how much they loved each other.

In one of the scenes, we get to know that Miguel got a new hip, but one small incident changed everything. Rebecca got out of bed in the middle of the night and started dancing in the snow. She called Miguel for a dance and he put a coat on her to bring her inside. In the process, he fell down and hurt his knee.

The entire episode was so heart-warming. We never knew these small details about how Miguel’s life has also been affected by certain things, especially when he entered Rebecca’s life again. He had to face rejection from Kevin and the kids took their time to even consider him their step-father.  But he never left Rebecca’s side and that’s what makes him a good human, a good husband, and a good father as well.

Jon Huertas is absolutely tremendous in this episode and he showed every emotion with great precision. Life is all about hanging in with people you love and Miguel showed us what true love really looks like. Even right before his death, he never left Rebecca’s side and always got up at 6:45 am to help her get out of bed. These are little things that make a relationship so important and adorable.

All in all, Miguel lived his life to the fullest. Yes, he faced difficulties but he also had amazing moments and his life should be celebrated, not mourned.

Miguel and Rebecca, forever.

'This Is Us' Season 6 returns to NBC with a new episode every Tuesday at 9 pm EST.
