A car is in flames as the new ‘This Is Us’ episode begins. Titled ‘There’, the episode is summarized with Kevin Pearson's (Justin Hartley) “stressful road trip” and a flashback from the past where Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) and young Kevin (Parker Bates) go to a football training camp.”

The scene shifts to a flashback from Jack's childhood where a young version of him (played by Joaquin Obradors) is seen with Stanley (Peter Onorati). As the story dabbles between the past and present, Kevin gets a call from Madison Simons (Caitlin Thompson) saying, “Kevin, I think I’m having contractions.” Surprised, he says the twins were not due for weeks.

Say bye-bye to the movie... and DeNiro!

Kevin is in the middle of his movie shoot but right after the call, he makes up his mind to go see Madison. He tells the film director that he won't be able to wait... even though Robert DeNiro is about to come in five minutes. Woah!

When Kevin breaks the news, his director tries to help, “If you can give this 6 to 7 hours... I'll send you first thing tomorrow morning.” But Kevin is adamant he wants to leave right then. “I don't think that's gonna work. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm very sorry...”

Later, while driving, Kevin is bombarded with tons of phone calls. In a panic mode, when his film director calls to check in on him, Kevin lashes out. Quashing his role in the legal thriller ‘Glass Eye’, Kevin even tells the director: “No one cares about your stupid movie. I quit.”

Whose life did Kevin save?

Kevin keeps getting calls. “Miguel and my mom are trying to book a flight,” he tells Madison. “I'm coming, I promise. Madison, I'll be there.” His phone keeps on ringing. To Madison, Kevin says, “Keep your contractions slow because I am coming there. I know your entire birth plan.” At the same time, Randall calls and says, “Kev, we're driving home from New Orleans.” But Kevin, obviously, is unable to talk things at that moment and disconnects the call.

His mom Rebecca (Mandy Moore) calls too and tries to lift his spirits. “You're having a little unexpected adventure,” she says and he snaps back, “It's not really how I imagined it.” Realizing how he might be thinking about his father Jack, Rebecca then says, “I know you put him on a pedestal, he was a wonderful father.”

Just at that time, Kevin gets out of the car and sees a damaged car on the roadside. He helps the man out and takes off his jacket to tie his leg. While pulling off the jacket, his wallet falls off and can be seen lying there while Kevin rushes to the hospital and then the airport. While driving him, the man recognizes him and says, “Life is so weird.”

‘My dad was the most there person that ever lived’

“I am going to miss my children being born... I am going to miss the most important moment in their life,” Kevin confesses to the stranger. But he tries to make him feel better by saying, “I don't remember anything before kindergarten. This is not the most important point in your life.”

Reminiscing old memories with his father, Kevin says, “None of that stuff matters. My dad was perfect. He was just there... always. My dad was the most there person that ever lived... Everything I do, I do it with his voice in my head. He would have made it to the births. He believes I can be that person too.”

After leaving the injured man in the hospital, Kevin rushes to the airport, Once there, he realizes he doesn't have his ID and begs the security to let him go. What's more, he even tells them he is an actor. Now, we don't know whether or not he can go in. Madison is taken into the hospital. Feeling lonely, she says, “I can't believe I am going to do this alone. I don't have my mom or anyone in my family.”

Just then, Randall and Beth call her and say, “I spoke to Kev... I know he is trying to reach there. We just wanted to say if you need anything don't hesitate to call. Madison we can really stay on... you're family.”

Loophole: Should Kevin have had his passport?

As fans wonder if Kevin will make it to see Madison and his twins being born, a huge plot hole seems to have surfaced. Pointing out the loophole, one Reddit fan posted, “Was Kevin already in the US when he encountered the car crash? I thought he was hovering around the Vancouver airport when he found out that Miguel discovered a flight in Seattle.”

Another said, “I was wondering this too. Wouldn’t he have had his passport too in order to cross the US/Canada border? Couldn’t he just have used the passport as identification to board the flight?”

One argued, “To everyone mad about the passport plot hole...do we know the accident happened in Canada? He could have easily been through the border and in Washington when the accident happened.”

Another said, “Regardless, he should've had his passport on him. If he crossed the border (which takes a while, sometimes— but, maybe not in the middle of the night?) he would've had to have his passport. So even if he lost his driver's license, he should've had it. Unless he had like a passport wallet and lost it all at once.”

In fact, one fan researched and said, “You can fly without ID if you lose yours! They don't just not let you on the plane. At least it wasn't Kevin in the car accident like they were setting it up to look like. Two car accidents for one character in the course of a series would have had me in disbelief. I love Miguel and hope we can see more of his character's background. See TSA website regarding ID though. If they can confirm your identity you will need to go through additional screenings but they will let you fly. People forget ID all the time.”
