It's been a long wait... and ‘This Is Us’ is finally back. The beloved NBC show has been taking one too many breaks and now fans can't wait for answers to their questions revolving around Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) and Madison Simons (Caitlin Thompson).

Titled ‘There’, the summary of the new episode reads, “Kevin embarks on a stressful road trip; Jack and young Kevin go to a football training camp.” Leaving viewers hanging in the air, the promo hinted at a car crash, and viewers couldn't help but think the worst. Over the few weeks, fans have been betting over these questions: Will someone die? Will Kevin and Madison's relationship survive? Get set to hear the real story now.

How did Kevin lose his ID card?

“Kevin, I think I’m having contractions,” Madison tells her fiancé in a heart-stopping promo for the new episode. Kevin tells her that it's too early but Madison winces in pain. The trailer hints at a car crash and Kevin's ID lying somewhere there.

Ruling out the possibility that Kevin dies, one Reddit fan predicted, “I think he will rescue someone, maybe from a burning car (Justin Hartley mentioned heroism in an interview), which will free him from the feeling that he wasn’t there to save his father. The episode is called ‘There’. Jack was always there for his kids but Kevin was not there for Jack. Kevin will be there to carry out the rescue but (possibly) not there for the birth of his twins.”

It seems like not Kevin or Madison but it might be someone else in that car crash who Kevin helps and then loses his ID while taking him to the hospital. Another posted, “The crashed car is not the one Kevin was sitting in when Randall phoned. More likely that Kevin is passing that scene and trying to help. I loved someone else's suggestion that it might be cathartic for him to "save people from a burning car" because he carries the guilt of not having been there when his father was in the burning house and later died.”

Will Kevin meet Madison?

A new clip from the episode shows Kevin emotionally remembering his father Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia). “My dad was the most ‘there’ person that ever lived.” In the same clip, Jack tells young Kevin, “Football is not the only thing you have. I think you're gonna be way better than me.”

Fans are disappointed to see the episode so late but feel angry toward Kevin for not reaching in time. “Love the show except Kevin’s decision to leave a miss out on Madison’s pregnancy especially when multiples can come early and he said he was all in...didn’t learn from Randall’s advice when they were younger to stay present. I doubt Jack wouldn’t have gone. Can’t wait to see more of Kate & Tobey's adoption story,” one said.

Another fan posted, “Omfg, I know Kevin is alive but Madison...I have a horrible feeling that she's going to die during labor, or sometime after but I can just tell that this next episode is gonna be so stressful and a tearjerker, time to get mentally and emotionally prepared.”

Are there any more breaks?

Dropping the good news, Dan Fogelman tweeted, “We are back tonight (finally) with a really special @bergernight-@iaptaker episode. I've been waiting to get these next few on the air - the actors are just off the charts (as always). Thanks for waiting, it's good to be back.”

Fans were, however, still concerned about the breaks. “Does this mean then that there will be only new episodes for the rest of the season? No more breaks until the season final?” one viewer blatantly asked. Another said, “Is there a mid-season hiatus after episode 8 or are we going to have more in a row? I know production had pause so wasn’t sure.”

When is the episode out?

Written by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger and directed by Kevin Rodney Sullivan, the episode ‘There’ will finally answer all the big questions — and leave some cliffhangers as usual.
