'I've been hurt'

"Sorry for my handwriting," starting with an apology for his handwriting. He started the note dated 12 February, explaining his situation, he said "I've been hurt" asking the question thrice "Why? Why? Why?" while apparently asking for the reasons behind the hatred he receives on a regular basis. He continues, "I've been hurt," following it with a picture that has tears rolling down its cheeks. Three similar-looking pictures are drawn in the note.

'I don't want to be an American African'

In the two-page note, he stated that, "I am tired of being rejected" and that being an "outcast", and "loner." He further writes, “They made me who I am today a killer”. The note read “I’m a person,” and “They hate me why? why? why? why?.” He claims that people treat him differently "everywhere" he goes and nobody cares about him. He also added, "I don't want to be an American African" and also uses profanity to describe unnamed people he decries as racist. He also talked about his sex life on the note where he said, "10 years since I had sex."

'My father (has) nothing to do with this'

McRae clears his family in the middle of the note, which is underlined for emphasis. He wrote, "My father (has) nothing to do with this. The redacted note on the first page wrote, "There's a group of us, 20 of us and I'm the leader.” The note adds, “I will be shooting up MSU and some of the other groups will be going to Colorado Springs to shoot up. Another team of ... group will be going to New Jersey and they will shoot up High school and Middle school. They hurt me”. Police, however, say they have found no evidence of that as per The Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety (DPPS) news release.

McRae's claim to be acting with others is unfounded, authorities said Friday. According to the authorities, “Comprehensive reviews and detailed follow-up” shows that “McRae acted alone and was not working with other people". Police said that they will continue their investigation.
