'The Wheel of Time' Episode 6: Moiraine and Siuan's meeting as lovers surprises fans

The all-powerful Amyrlin Seat makes an appearance to give out punishments to the Aes Sedai

Amazon Prime's 'The Wheel Of Time' has been on a high roll ever since it premiered with fans of the original books loving the adaptation as well. For viewers who dearly missed a really good fantasy show, the series came as a gift that has continued to shine with its high production value and accurate depictions.

We previously saw the False Dragon Logain Abrar kill one of the Aes Sedai, leading the others to gentle him. Apparently, this action was not in accordance with the Aes Sedai's rules and results in them being called upon by their head, the Amyrlin Seat herself. Liandrin, Moiraine, and Alanna are to stand trial and face the consequences for which they reach the White Tower. Read on to know what happened next and what fans thought of it.

The sixth episode saw Alanna (Priyanka Bose), Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), and Liandrin (Kate Fleetwood) answer to the Amyrlin Seat (Sophie Okonedo) for the improper trial of the False Dragon, Logain (Alvaro Morte). This resulted in the blame falling on Liandrin but the woman instead decided to also take Moiraine down with her as she told the head of the Aes Sedai about her travels, which Moiraine refuses to speak about. For this treachery, Moiraine is made to beg for mercy with a penance to be doled out later.

But what surprised fans was when Moiraine opens a portal at night to visit someone secretly and voila! it was none other than the Amyrlin Seat aka Siuan Sanche herself. Turns out the two are lovers as they indulge in some deep kisses and fondly embrace each other. Both the women have secretly been working together for a greater purpose with only each other to confide in. The scenes the two shared together were very intimate and loving which was quite a surprise after the curt, authoritative and tense exchange during the trial.

Fans absolutely loved the chemistry between the two and went into full-blown shipping mode when this happened. The new appearance of Sophie Okonedo as the Amyrlin seat was adored with fans commending her acting as well. Here's what they had to say.
