There has been a lot of curiosity for ‘The Wheel of Time’ since the beginning and it was said that the Amazon series would be a treat to watch for all the lovers of the fantasy genre. The first five episodes have been really outstanding and have garnered a lot of interest in the minds of viewers. The characters are relatable and the plotlines keep you glued to your screens. However, it is the sixth episode that takes the series to a whole new level.

Remember, the Season 6 finale of ‘Game of Thrones’? Now, I won’t like to compare the two shows, but the latest episode of the Amazon series is the best I have seen in a fantasy series since the ‘GoT’ Season 6 finale. ‘The Wheel of Time’ shows its true potential in this episode with exceptional writing and mind-boggling visuals.

So, the premise of Episode 6 is Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and Liandril (Kate Fleetwood) standing in front of the mother Aes Sedai, Siuan Sanche (Sophie Okonedo). Liandril tells Siuan everything about Moiraine and how she betrayed everyone by not telling anyone about the attacks that happened in recent weeks. The accusations forced Siuan to give Moiraine punishment and as a result, she is sent to exile. However, there are a lot of plotlines that come in between and make you realize how baffling these revelations actually are.

As the episode progresses, we get to know what has happened to Mat and why he is still not recovering. Moiraine uses her powers to take the darkness out of his body and the reason behind his ill health was the dagger he took from the city that was abandoned due to the darkness that lies upon it. The scene has been shot magnificently and Rosamund Pike takes the scene to another level with her acting.

Whenever we talk about a fantasy series, we always look out for two things: 1) an engaging story and 2) visuals that take you on a magical journey. As of now, ‘The Wheel of Time’ has been treating audiences with both the aforementioned things. Episode 6 of the Amazon series is everything that fans would have hoped for and exceeds all the expectations because of brilliant writing.

I was completely mesmerized since the beginning and ending made me excited for things to come. It’s only going to get better from here.

‘The Wheel of Time’ returns to Amazon Prime Video with a new episode every Friday.
