Upon his return to CRM, Rick meets with Major General Beale (Terry O'Quinn) for the Echelon Briefing, having been promoted to a senior rank in the army. In an empty room, Beale requests that Rick surrender his weapons before their discussion begins.

During the briefing, Beale reveals his ultimate motives and goals with CRM. He expresses his belief that humanity is on the brink of extinction within the next 14 years due to threats like walkers, starvation, and diseases.

Beale justifies his actions of killing humans as a means to save humanity, claiming that by strategically eliminating communities worldwide and seizing their resources, CRM will become the most powerful and ultimately the only surviving community on Earth.

As Beale discloses his plan to destroy Portland and continue across the country to obliterate other communities, Rick loses his composure and he seizes his knife.

Beale senses Rick's intentions and prepares for an attack, but Rick swiftly plunges his knife into Beale before delivering the fatal blow with Beale's own sword.

Rick's killing spree continues as the episode progresses. While moving Beale's dead body, he is caught by another CRM soldier. Rick pummels the soldier's face until he succumbs to death.

And that's not it. Together, Michonne and Rick engineer a trap that triggers the release of chlorine gas, a weapon the CRM intends to use on Portland.

Their plan proves devastatingly effective, wiping out the entire CRM as they suffocate in the gas during a massive explosion.

With CRM's nefarious plans thwarted, Rick and Michonne emerge as saviors, saving the world from the organization's dark agendas.
