LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) face escalating challenges in Episode 5 of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live'.

After exploiting a helicopter crash to flee CRM and return home, the couple encounters serious obstacles on their path.

They confront not only hordes of walkers but also a ruthless trio of survivors who threaten them at gunpoint, demanding their food and provisions.

Their troubles intensify when Jadis Stokes (Pollyanna McIntosh) inexplicably hunts them down.

Jadis Stokes interrupts Rick Grimes and Michonne's peaceful sleep with her sudden appearance, holding a gun in both hands. She asks Michonne to tie up Rick and then herself.

Jadis explains that she became suspicious of their disappearance and returned to the crash site after the reclamation team where she discovered evidence hinting at their survival.

Jadis, who takes pride in being a warrant officer of CRM, cannot risk allowing Rick and Michonne to return to Alexandria, fearing discovery of her ties to the community and their potential capture by CRM.

She justifies her actions by claiming that killing them will protect Alexandria from CRM's wrath. However, as Jadis pulls the trigger, Rick and Michonne evade her and seek cover.

Simultaneously, Michonne grabs a weapon and strikes Jadis in the abdomen, thus turning the tables.

Michonne's assault leaves Jadis severely wounded, prompting her to seek refuge in an abandoned cabin.

Rick and Michonne eventually locate her there. As Michonne prepares to deliver a fatal blow, Jadis warns against it, explaining the dire consequences: if she dies (whether from Michonne's attack, her wound, or the walkers), CRM will discover Rick's file among her belongings and kill their children and the entire community.

This strengthens Jadis to face Michonne's gun, despite the looming threat of walkers behind her.

Just as a walker is about to strike, Michonne fires her weapon, using up all her bullets to eliminate the approaching group of walkers.

This leads to a tense negotiation where the couple proposes a quid pro quo: Rick accompanies Jadis to CRM while she allows Michonne to return to Alexandria.

As Rick and Michonne put down their weapons, Jadis betrays them by drawing another gun, attempting to kill Rick. Michonne intervenes, targeting Jadis in defense.

Amidst the chaos and deceit, walkers bite Jadis. Despite Rick and Michonne's efforts to save her, the damage is irreversible.

In her final moments, Jadis instructs Rick to retrieve and destroy the file and go back to Alexandria. However, she requests them not to go after CRM as she believes in their cause.

Rick grants Jadis mercy by ending her suffering with a fatal gunshot.
