LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) lost his son Carl in Season 8 of the original 'Walking Dead' series.

However, his agony multiplied when he was separated from his wife Michonne and daughter Judith in Season 9 during a bridge explosion.

Despite everyone believing Rick was dead, Michonne (Danai Gurira) clung to hope that he was alive and needed rescuing.

Meanwhile, Rick was taken to CRM by Jadis Stokes (Pollyanna McIntosh), where he worked as a consignee before becoming a soldier.

Years later, when Michonne finally reunited with Rick, she kept quiet about their son RJ, born after Rick's disappearance.

This secrecy sparked curiosity among viewers, wondering how Rick would react upon learning he has another chance of parenting a son after losing Carl.

In Episode 4 of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live', Rick Grimes and Michonne find themselves in Greenwood after escaping from the CRM.

Amidst a tense argument, Michonne inadvertently reveals that she left her "children" to search for Rick. This revelation confuses Rick until Michonne clarifies that they have a son named Rick Jr, affectionately called RJ.

She explains that she was pregnant during the bridge explosion and gave birth to their son a few months later.

RJ, now almost 8 years old, refers to his father as "The Brave Man."

Upon learning about their son, Rick Grimes' reaction disappoints Michonne as he shows no curiosity or affection. This leaves Michonne heartbroken, questioning if Rick still cares about his family.

In an emotional conversation, Rick explains that his actions are driven by threats from Jadis and CRM, fearing the loss of his family if he attempts to escape. Carl's death also haunts him and dreads losing more loved ones.

During a moment of intimacy, Rick finally inquires about his son. Michonne shares that RJ resembles Rick and has inherited his stubbornness.

As Rick and Michonne embark on their journey back to Alexandria, anticipation builds for the family reunion and Rick's first meeting with his son.
