Blake Shelton and 'The Voice' are almost synonymous with each other at this point. Other judges may have come and gone, but Shelton has remained firmly on the show. But while a life full of music sounds great, is it now time for a quieter life for the country superstar?

In an interview with Hoda Kotb on 'Today With Hoda and Jenna' recently, Shelton hinted that he may be ready to take a step back from the spotlight sooner than we think. "I hope that’s not too far down the road," Blake said when asked about his plans for a more relaxed life someday. When Hoda prompted whether that was a timeframe of ten years down the line, Shelton said, "Ten years sounds like way too long to me. I’d like to see that sooner than later."

The country superstar is also wanting to slow down so that he can enjoy married life with Gwen Stefani and hopes that they will finally be able to tie the knot this summer. So does that mean that Blake's quieter life away from 'The Voice' could happen in 2021? While we're sure plenty of Shelton fans will be heartbroken if that happens, there are others who feel that Shelton may have outstayed his welcome on the show. One fan tweeted of late, "Me too, Blake's been on the show for 10 years. It's time to go, focus on his family or his marriage i think"

Well looks like this fan and Blake have been thinking in the same direction. Blake Shelton in his interview on 'Today With Hoda and Jenna' added that he and Gwen have taken it to the limit with their careers. Shelton says, "It’s been fortunate to accomplish a lot of things. But, hopefully, at some point, we get a chance to live some life."

As for who could replace Blake Shelton, well it seems that the show creators and producers may have to look no further than the recent guest judge who filled in for Kelly Clarkson, Kelsea Ballerini. Kelsea certainly has the chops to represent country music on the show and she was widely appreciated in her role as a judge on the show. In fact several fans have felt she deserves a more permanent role on the show. One fan tweeted, "Is it just me or do you think Kelsea Ballerini is auditioning to be the new country person and this is @blakeshelton last season?
