'The Voice' fans 'distraught' as Hailey Mia beats The Cunningham Sisters in knockouts

The Cunningham Sisters failed to get a steal from the judges thus, ending their journey on ‘The Voice’

Episode 12 of ‘The Voice’ season 21 saw three rounds of battles during the knockouts. From Team Ariana, we saw Ryleigh Plank going against David Vogel, whereas, John Legend brought Samuel Harness and Brittany Bee for the epic showdown. From Team Kelly, the sister duo aptly called The Cunningham Sisters went for a face-off with Hailey Mia.

Hailey Mia was the first one to hit the stage from Kelly Clarkson’s team. She performed her rendition of ‘Arcade’, a hit single by singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence. The Cunningham Sisters that consist of siblings Macie and Marie Cunningham decided to show their skills on the cover of ‘Oceans: (Where Feet Mail Fail)’ by Hillsong United. The rest of the coaches namely Ariana Grande, John Legend, and Blake Shelton seemed mesmerized by both the contestants but the final call by Kelly left the social media users upset.

Kelly Clarkson picks Hailey Mia over The Cunningham Sisters

After enjoying their fan moments with the mega mentor Ed Sheeran backstage, both the contestants gave their best shot on the stage with an intention to grab a spot in the Live playoffs. Speaking on their performance, Blake Shelton asserted, “This is the cutest little thing I have ever seen.” Speaking to the sister duo, he added, “You guys have been favorites of mine since you came onto the show. I don’t know if you know about that or care about that but you have a lot about you and it’s really incredible.” However, he later leaned towards Hailey Mia.

John Legend too praised The Cunningham Sisters, saying, “I love hearing The Cunningham Sisters harmonize together, it is so nice.” Ariana and Kelly too praised the sister duo but the majority of them leaned towards Hailey Mia. After much deliberation, Kelly Clarkson picked Hailey over the teen sisters that left the viewers of the singing reality show in shock. The Cunningham Sisters also failed to get a steal from the rest of the judges thus, ending their journey on ‘The Voice’ right there. After winning the round, Hailey will now advance to the Live playoffs.

‘The way no one stole The Cunningham Sisters is an actual crime’

Social media users rushed to Twitter to express their disappointment over The Cunningham Sisters losing to Hailey Mia. “The way no one stole the cunningham sisters-an actual crime im literally crying,” said one upset fan as another added, “So ur telling me that kelly chose hailey over the cunningham sisters??? honestly so distraught rn.” The next one tweeted, “Someone give the Cunningham sisters a record deal, their voices are special.”
 
One posted, “Ooooh Kelly why did you let the Cunningham sisters go!!” as another mentioned, “The Cunningham Sisters, you two made the whole Hamilton community ecstatic! I’m very glad I could experience you both grow in your passion and God-given talent! Thank you for making Season 21 of #TheVoice one to remember.” And, one individual concluded, “They were all great! I hope the Cunningham Sisters come back as they are fabulous for as young as they are.”

‘The Voice’ Season 21 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm PT/ET on NBC.
