Movies and TV shows based on true stories have always been a fascinating watch for the viewers. They tend to garner more curiosity because everyone wants to know what really forced people to do some of the most extraordinary stuff in their lives. NBC is set to come out with one such story that shocked the nation and made everyone realize how dark people’s lives can be.

Titled ‘The Thing about Pam’, the NBC series tells the story of the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ’s conviction. However, things got really confusing when some of the evidence implicated that it was Pam Hupp, one of Betsy’s friends, who might have killed her. But that was not the only crime she committed in her life and is currently serving a life sentence for another murder.

When does ‘The Thing About Pam’ release and where can you watch it

The upcoming NBC mini-series will be premiering exclusively on NBC on Tuesday, March 8, at 10 pm EST. The series consists of six episodes and the finale will take place on April 12. Viewers can watch the show by getting the channel as a part of the default lineup of major live TV streaming services, including fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV.

What is ‘The Thing About Pam’ all about?

The official synopsis reads, “Based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria that resulted in her husband Russ's conviction, although he insisted he didn't kill her. His conviction was later overturned. This brutal crime set off a chain of events that would expose a diabolical scheme deeply involving Pam Hupp. A thorough examination of the scheme was featured on several episodes of ‘Dateline NBC,’ becoming one of the most popular topics to ever air on the hit NBC franchise.”

Who stars in the upcoming NBC series?

Academy Award-winning actress Zellweger will portray the character of Hupp on the show. Katy Mixon will be playing the role of Betsy Maria while Josh Duhamel plays Joel Schwartz.

Zellweger needs no introduction. She is one of the greatest actors of this generation and her stellar career is proof of that. The American actress began her professional career in the early 90s and got wider recognition through her role in ‘Jerry Maguire’. Since then, she has appeared in movies such as ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’, ‘Chicago’, ‘Cold Mountain’, ‘Cinderella Man’, and ‘Judy’, for which she won the Best Actress Oscar.

Other actors to appear on the show include Judy Greer (Leah Askey), Gideon Adlon (Mariah Day), Sean Bridgers (Mark Hupp), and Glenn Fleshler (Russ Faria).

The first two episodes have been directed by Scott Winant. Meanwhile, writers like Jenny Klein, Jessika Borsiczky, Kirk A. Moore, and Travis Sentell penned the screenplay.
