Pernille fails to shake off Christina’s charm
During her early days at the hospital, Pernille is paired with Christina for night shifts. Nights are where the action is as per Christina, who thrives off stress. Her dedication to her nursing job is infectious and Pernille is equally impressed by all that Christina has to say. Adding to Pernille’s building impression of Christina are the words of affirmation that the rest of the nurses have for Christina.
Christina teaches her the ways around the emergency ward at the hospital and makes Pernille comfortable. The duo share a moment of quiet relief when they share a cup of coffee on the roof, which Christina uses again and again to build rapport with Pernille. For now, Pernille feels she’s made a friend for life but unfortunately, the dream is short-lived.
Christina keeps Pernille in her orbit
During one of the night shifts when a patient falls into cardiac arrest, Christina guides Pernille on how to perform chest compressions to resuscitate the patient but a close encounter shakes Pernille to her core. She realizes that it’s a high-risk job and she might just not be cut out for it. The ever-charming Christina uses her words carefully and talks Pernille out of her nerves, stopping her from quitting the emergency ward duty. This is when we we see Christina’s abilities to manipulate and keep people happy and close to her. Pernille is happy to reconsider her decision and decides to continue in the high-octane emergency ward, ignorant of the tragedy that is about to befall her.
The Nurse is available to stream on Netflix.
