Mermaid clues
The first clue that was slipped by FOX for Mermaid mash was "seashell". Moreover, after the star performed and astonished everyone with her melodious voice, another set of clues was dropped, featuring two doves, a vinyl record, and a revelation saying that the celebrity singer underneath the mask had once been in an accident. After Mermaid's performance, it was told to the audience that the same song was performed in the Library of Congress.
Mermaid managed to survive the first elimination in the episode. The masked singer was then moved forward for the 'Battle Royale' round with Robogirl. However, there she stalled and was unmasked. The judges as well as the audience were excited to uncover the strong voice that was masked under Mermaid's mask. She was revealed to be the legendary singer and two times grammy winner Gloria Gaynor.
The star's accident clue was linked to Gaynor's injury caused during her concerts. After that, she became partially paralyzed and was dropped from her label because of the spinal injury that led to the surgery and three-month of bed rest in the hospital. Well, her struggle during that period of time made her compose the song 'I Will Survive'. Moreover, two doves clues could be related to her Dove Awards in Nashville where she bagged two nominations.
With Maize and Mermaid being eliminated from 'The Masked Singer' Season 8 Episode 4, Robogirl will move forward along with Harp. Stay tuned to Fox to watch the new episodes of 'The Masked Singer' Season 8 releasing every Wednesday at 8 pm ET/PT.
