'The Masked Singer' season 2 premiere: Judges eliminate the Egg over the Skeleton and fans can't believe it
'The Masked Singer' season 2 is back, bigger and better with harder and cryptic clues. This season the series features 16 contestants all decked up in glamourous and breathtaking costumes, performing their hearts out hoping not to be unmasked.
Wednesday night's premiere episode of 'The Masked Singer' season 2, featured eight contestants facing off in two groups. Taking their seats once again are the judges' panel of 'celebrity detectives' Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, and Nicole Scherzinger and they surely have their work cut out for them, as the clues are harder this season.
Unlike season 1, season 2 features the unmasking of two contestants. The first group consisted of a face-off between the Butterfly vs the Egg and the Thingamajig vs the Skeleton. The Butterfly and the Thingamajig emerged as the winners of the face-off leaving the Egg and the Skeleton in the danger zone.
Facing the very first smackdown of the season, the Egg and the Skeleton battled it out against each other hoping they will have another chance to keep their mask on. But sadly after the performance, the judging panel decided to send the Skeleton to the next round, eliminating the Egg. The Egg will be unmasked at the end of the night, but even though most fans are happy that the Skeleton made it through to the next round, a few of them are disappointed that the Egg will be unmasked claiming that the judges just sent the Skeleton through because he was funny, not because he was a good singer.
When The Egg first came on stage, rumors were rife that behind the egg mask could the BTS singer J-Hope. Some fans were convinced that it was the K-pop group rapper and dancer behind the mask.
Stating that this is 'The Masked Singer' and not 'The Masked Joker' fans took to Twitter claiming the judging panel made a wrong decision. "I don’t know if I’ll ever accept that they kept the Skeleton over the Egg. #TheMaskedSinger," wrote a fan on Twitter.
Adding to that another fan said, "How the hell did the Skeleton win??? That’s some straight up bullshit!! (And I like the skeleton) #TheMaskedSinger."
"Definitely thought the egg outsang the skeleton! #TheMaskedSinger," wrote a fan. While another added, "Okay who is voting, The Egg was better than The Skeleton. #TheMaskedSinger."
"Guys I hate myself but I’m watching #TheMaskedSinger and egg was much better than skeleton," wrote a fan. Adding to that another said, "I think Skeleton won because he's funny. Egg was obviously the better singer. #TheMaskedSinger."
"SKELETON BEAT EGG???? ISNT THIS THE MASKED SINGER??? NOT THE MASKED FUN PERSONALITY??? #TheMaskedSinger," said another fan.
