LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: One of the central struggles of ‘The Lost Kingdom’ Season 5 is who would succeed King Edward. We already know that there were two main contenders to be the king of England: Aethelstan and Aelfweard. But a lot of crazy things happen during the last season of the Netflix series and Aethelstan turned out to be the first choice for the king. However, being a king would not be that easy for Aethelstan because all the kings from other regions will also do everything to make their kin the next ruler of England. To give a proper closure to Uhtred's epic story, Netflix has come forward with the movie ‘Seven Kings Must Die’, which serves as the final chapter for the historical series ‘The Lost Kingdom’.

The movie, 'Seven Kings Must Die', begins with the announcement of King Edward’s death and Aethelstan trying to claim what is rightfully his. However, he has lost his composure and is now under the influence of a man named Ingilmundr (Laurie Davidson) who keeps on dividing him and the people in the name of faith. He is not letting Aethelstan lead with a stable mind and makes him realize that Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) is actually an enemy and should be killed if he doesn’t fulfill his promise of supporting Aethelstan as the new king. Just like ‘The Lost Kingdom’, the aforementioned title is filled with betrayals and acts of courage, but it all comes down to the epic war that will decide who will be the new king of England.

On the other hand, Uhtred is trying hard to make Aethelstan understand that war is not the answer and that even if he becomes a king after waging a war, he will never be at peace.

‘The Lost Kingdom’ received worldwide success because of its superlative storylines and to end the storyline with a feature-length seemed to be a good idea. After watching ‘Seven Kings Must Die’, we realized that the makers did a brilliant job in condensing the story to an almost 2-hour movie because it keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats. Also, the additional plotlines have been dealt with a lot of confidence and elegance. The production design team should be applauded for creating a world that brings little towns and fortresses to life.

Without any guesses, the movie has a consistent amount of action that works really well in taking the story forward. Those fight sequences are brutal and very well choreographed. It is also much more emotional than the previous seasons because it puts Uhtred in situations that are really hard to overcome. He is ready to take decisions that will help his people, but he’s ready to fight for them as well. That’s why ‘Seven Kings Must Die’ is such a riveting watch because our protagonist embarks on a journey that makes him question a lot of things, including his faith.

Alexander Dreymon as Uhtred is brilliant as well and gives a stellar performance. On the other hand, Harry Gilby as Aethelstan is exceptional. The entire ensemble has done a phenomenal job in their respective roles. Apart from great performances, the concluding battle scene will undoubtedly blow everyone’s mind. It is an exhilarating, blood-splattering fight that would satisfy everyone who was waiting for an epic last battle. You’ll not be disappointed.
