Hulu is gearing up for the release of its latest mystery-thriller series 'The Killing Kind' which is set to premiere on Tuesday, May 14.
The show was developed by Eleventh Hour Films, backed by Sony, which created the show, with Sony Pictures Television managing international sales and securing the Hulu agreement.
Originally, 'The Killing Kind' was a Paramount+ Original commissioned from the UK. However, it was abruptly removed from the streaming service earlier this year, causing frustration among viewers, as reported by Deadline in February.
The story revolves around Ingrid Lewis, a successful defense attorney, who defends John Webster against stalking charges. Despite their brief relationship turning sour, Webster resurfaces in her life a year later.
When a colleague is killed, Webster claims he's the only one who can protect Ingrid from the killer, sparking a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
What is the plot of 'The Killing Kind'?
'The Killing Kind' is a six-part thriller series that delves into the complex relationship between high-flying defense barrister Ingrid (Emma Appleton) and John Webster (Colin Morgan), whom she defended against stalking allegations.
Ingrid's courtroom victory led to a romantic entanglement with Webster, but their relationship soured when she tried to end it.
As Ingrid starts to rebuild her life after the turbulent events with Webster, tragedy strikes with the sudden death of her mentor, Belinda (Sara Powell).
Webster resurfaces, claiming to possess information that could irreversibly damage Ingrid's life.
Initially hesitant to entertain Webster's warnings due to their troubled past, Ingrid becomes increasingly paranoid after Belinda's death, suspecting foul play.
Uncertain of whom to trust, Ingrid finds herself caught in a web of uncertainty, questioning whether Webster is a savior or a threat.
The official synopsis reads, "A barrister defends a man against stalking charges, only for him to turn on her."
