What do you do when your new girlfriend asks you to choose between your friendship and your relationship? Difficult to answer simply, isn’t it? More than often, people tend to forgo their friendship for love. Call it a mistake or a well-thought decision, such instances do not tend to go down well in the near or distant future. Dr Shaun Murphy ends up doing the same thing.

Despite being special and more perceptive than others, he does what most men do in a new relationship. He submits to Dr Carly Lever's expectations and asks Lea to move out. The two have not only been friends for years, but had also become roomies. And their bond grew stronger more after Shaun’s father’s death, when he went into a downward emotional spiral. This became difficult for Carly to handle, especially because she discovered (and Shaun admitted) that her boyfriend felt more intimate with his friend than he felt with his girlfriend.

When Shaun realizes that his actions upset Carly he tries to resolve it and rectify his mistakes, even if it meant agreeing to get Lea Dilallo to move out at Carly’s request. When they had this conversation in last week’s episode, fans didn’t think it will be effective right away. As Lea finally moves out, all of us are feeling upset about it, but fans are more disappointed than ever, especially with Carly.

One fan, who is irritated with Carly, says, “Shaun kicked Lea out?? That’s sad.. I really don’t like Carly. #TheGoodDoctor”

Another fan said, “Wait....why does Lea have to move???????? Grrrrrrrrrr!!!! #TheGoodDoctor”

Another fan feels bad that Lea and Shaun are axing their friendship. She comments, “@jen_nene88 @GoodDoctorABC I don’t want Shaun and Leah to not be friends. These two have great chemistry #TheGoodDoctor”

With Lea moving out, it seems very logical that Carly might move in. Speculating on that note, one fan said, “So they going to move in together? We will see how this will work #TheGoodDoctor”

Even after Shaun breaks the news to his girlfriend, hoping she will feel better, Carly still feels upset. How long before she forgives Shaun?
