‘The Good Doctor’ Season 3 Episode 8 sees fans empathizing with Dr Morgan for the first time
Dr Morgan Reznick is all set for her first lead surgery, a dream come true for every surgeon. But our skilled surgeon has been on the edge ever since she was assigned the surgery. In the words of Dr Marcus Andrews, she has “the aggressiveness, the work ethics, and the talent to be a leader”. She can “couch her fears in arrogance” and that’s what makes her the skilled surgeon she is.
However, Morgan soon discovers that she is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, which severely affects joints and bones, making limbs dysfunctional. This terrifies her to the extent that she thinks she will fail but knowing the kind of ambitious woman she is, she refuses to accept defeat. This intense struggle within her, fighting the fight of her body and mind, and keeping herself together through the crisis, made us see Morgan in a new light.
As @FebWriter tweets, “Morgan got her first lead surgery, and it's more complex than everyone else's first surgeries. Bragging Morgan ticked off other residents. #TheGoodDoctor"
Seeing her vulnerability, fans are empathizing with her situation and people like @WChrisDecker feel that she is also struggling like Shaun and fighting to prove herself. “Morgan gets to do her first surgery. She like Shaun is having her own struggles. #TheGoodDoctor”
From being recognized as an arrogant and self-absorbed person to being vulnerable, Morgan has come a long way, especially in the eyes of her fans. In the words of @23Martini, “Morgan is a tough cookie and to see her vulnerability with Glassman make even like her more now #TheGoodDoctor”
And the best reaction so far comes from @xo_djg , who thinks “wow so morgan really has RA.... that's literally so unfair, i was rooting for her because this mean girl has made a complete change in this redemption arc, and literally now her whole career is being taken away from her, it can be so cruel out here #TheGoodDoctor”
It has been quite a challenging episode for Dr Morgan Reznick and fans hope that she gets over her life’s challenges. Or perhaps, these struggles will turn her into a whole new individual.
‘The Good Doctor’ Season 3 airs on Monday at 10.30 pm only on ABC.
