‘The Good Doctor’ Season 3 Episode 15: Carly breaks up with Shaun over Lea, leaves fans heartbroken
Truth be told, this was long time coming. No doubt that Carly Lever and Shaun Murphy are a sweet couple. But we have felt many times that Carly is a little insecure, though there’s no reason for her to feel that way about her relationship or her boyfriend.
Shaun is not like other guys and Carly knew that right from the beginning, which made their relationship unique. But as Lea Dilallo and Shaun’s friendship grew, it made Carly insecure. Even the slightest fun moments the two friends shared made her uncomfortable, so much so, that she even asked Shaun to make Lea leave their apartment and find her own place.
But looks like her discomfort got the best of her. At a double date with Shaun, Lea and her boyfriend, Carly realized that there is something more than “platonic friendship” between Lea and Shaun and perhaps Shaun also doesn’t realize that he subconsciously loves his friend and not Carly. With this thought, she breaks up with Shaun and leaves fans with a broken heart.
One fan reacts in shock at how she could do it and says, “OMG! Carly! Bish. Are you breaking Shaun’s heart!? What is this episode! Who are these writers! I want names. I feel attacked! I was NOT ready for a break-up! #TheGoodDoctor.”

Some viewers questioned Carly’s mindset and wondered how she can think like that. A fan says, “Does Carly not realize Shaun and Leah are literally just friends and karaoke is just an activity they share with each other? And they were all drinking #TheGoodDoctor.”
“I'm tired of them making us love Carly & Shaun together and then breaking them up cuz Shaun might love Lea.....didnt he tell her how he felt about her before?? #TheGoodDoctor” comments another.
While most people are not liking Carly’s decision and feeling bad for Shaun, there are an entire group of people who are in favor of Carly and how it has been unfair on her.
One fan says, “I hate to say this, but Carly deserves better. She has sat on standby watching Shawn unintentionally display his feelings for Lea countless times. He had her riding along like boo boo the fool. Even I'm over it at this point. #TheGoodDoctor”
