As soon as Eddie, who's deployed in Turkey as a part of the UN’s border patrol, finds out about his father's deteriorating health, he returns home. Soon after, his father passes away.

However, Eddie as well as every other member of the family is shocked to learn that as per the 12th Duke of Halstead’s will, the younger brother will inherit his father's title and property, including an estate that’s been in the family for over 600 years.

This naturally angers his older brother, Freddy (Daniel Ings).

Things take a turn for the worse, as he finds out that his brother has been ordered to pay off his eight million-pound debt in a week or face serious consequences.

After learning that an anonymous buyer is keen on purchasing the property promptly, he decides to finalize the sale as soon as possible.

However, he is blown away to know that the farm on the property is a front for Susie Glass' (Kaya Scodelario) marijuana growing facility and his family also gets a lucrative cut from the arrangement.

He decides against selling Halstead Manor after Susie promises to help him repay the debt by negotiating the terms of the loan with Tommy Dixon (Peter Serafinowicz).
