LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Everyone is gearing up for the release of ‘The Flash’ as DC dropped the final trailer for the upcoming movie. There’s a lot of buzz surrounding ‘The Flash’, ranging from controversies about lead actor Ezra Miller to anticipating some of the most iconic characters making a comeback. Love it or hate it, you cannot escape ‘The Flash’ in 2023.

A few major cast members have already been confirmed, including Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, both of whom will be returning as Batman. This is DC’s version of the ‘Multiverse of Madness’ and the countdown has begun. By the looks of it, ‘The Flash’ either has too many tricks up its sleeve or doesn’t want to keep fans guessing as they reveal another character in the final trailer. It is none other than Jeremy Irons returning as Alfred Pennyworth.

Alfred Pennyworth returns!

Hardcore fans of Batman, or even DC or DCEU in general, probably have a good idea about who Alfred is. Those not well-versed with the franchise, most likely heard of Pennyworth as Batman's famous butler. He is loyal and one of the most loved characters of the 'Batman' franchise. This revelation may hint that ‘The Flash’ has drawn a lot of inspiration from the 'Batman' franchise, that is, beyond Affleck and Keaton reprising their roles.

Pennyworth is introduced in the first 10 seconds of the final trailer, which is surprising because ‘The Flash’ really isn’t keeping any secrets. Thankfully, not everything is being revealed as Pennyworth doesn’t appear in the rest of the trailer. Considering the fact that Irons appeared in 2016’s ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’, he is most likely going to be Affleck’s Pennyworth.

Other cameos in ‘The Flash’

The three most iconic cast members who will be appearing in ‘The Flash’ are Keaton, Affleck and Michael Shannon. Now, Irons has also joined their ranks. Again, it will be interesting to see if ‘The Flash’ has any more cameos in store for fans or has everything been revealed in the final trailer. Who knows, maybe Robert Pattinson’s Batman could make an appearance too.

‘The Flash’ will release on June 16 in theaters near you.
