MALIBU, CALIFORNIA: Gary Busey, 78, was charged on August 19 with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of harassment following his alleged actions during an incident at a New Jersey fan gathering at the Monster Mania Convention between August 12 and 14. The disgraced actor was seen sitting with his pants down at Point Dume Park on August 20.

According to DailyMail, Busey got out of his car wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. He went towards a bench where he sat down, pulled out his phone and then pulled his pants down. 'The Buddy Holly Story' actor stuck one hand down the front of his pants, and then scanned around to check nobody caught him in the lewd act. He then started smoking a cigar, staring at the ocean for half an hour before leaving the park. The act took place just a day after he was charged with sex crimes after three women reported that the actor touched them inappropriately during an autograph signing and meet and greet at the Monster Mania Convention, as previously reported.

The decline and fall of Gary Busey

Widely known for supporting roles, Busey came to limelight when he was nominated for an Oscar for best actor for playing the title role in the 1978 film ‘The Buddy Holly Story.’ He starred in popular movies in the 1980s and 90s including ‘Point Break,’ ‘Drop Zone’ and ‘Eye of the Tiger.’ He also won the British version of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2014. However, in the show he had his own line of incidents that made the housemates uncomfortable.

After the actor, then 70, entered the UK 'Celebrity Big Brother' house, housemates and viewers were left shocked when Busey pulled down his pants with no underwear on in front of everyone. According to Mirror, the incident occurred as Busey, attempting to sort out his knee brace, which had been giving him some trouble, decided to pull down his trousers. He then ended up exposing his backside to the house, and then a chair, which caused James Jordan and White Dee to have a bit of a meltdown. As per the report, Jordan told Busey, “I wear underpants. I don’t sit on chairs with my bare bottom. That’s not right, Gary. And there’s ladies in here who shouldn’t see your c*** and balls.”

A serious brain injury

In 1988, Busey suffered a serious brain injury in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles, undergoing emergency neurosurgery and spending months in a rehabilitation clinic. Talking to USA Today in 2001, Busey said, "I had a nearly fatal motorcycle accident on Dec 4, 1988." On the day of the accident, he picked up his bike at a repair shop when he slid on a patch of gravel at 40 mph, flipped over the handlebars, and hit his unprotected head with no helmet on a curb. He said, "I landed at the feet of a police officer and was rushed to an emergency room with a hole in my head the size of a half dollar."

According The Irish Times, after the accident Busey became a campaigner, met President Bill Clinton and helped to create the Traumatic Brain Injury Act leading to helmets being a mandate for motorbike drivers and passengers in the US.

'He's either a genius or a moron'

When Busey, who appeared in more than 150 movies, was a contestant on season four of 'The Celebrity Apprentice' in 2011, Donald Trump said, “He’s either a genius or a moron and I can’t figure it out,” according to Today.
