'The Crown' Season 3 official trailer sees Queen Elizabeth handle rivalry with Princess Margaret and Prince Charles' tumultuous love life

Written by Peter Morgan, the trailer shows Britain in a dark, turbulent zone as Colman ponders upon her situation: 'On days like today, ask yourself in the time I’ve been on the throne what have I actually achieved?'

Times are changing for Queen Elizabeth II as the new season of 'The Crown' moves forth to show the political colors emerging from 1964 to 1970. A while ago, the makers teased fans with a clip where onlookers could practically see Claire Foy reanimating into Olivia Colman before their very own eyes as their profiles lie stacked side-by-side on an easel in Buckingham Palace.

With "an elegant reflection of Her Majesty's transition from a young woman to a settled sovereign," the hotly-anticipated official trailer released on October 21 seems to kick off with the Jubilee Day, a day as grueling as the Queen's coronation 25 years ago. Set against a cover of Bob Dylan's 'The Times They Are A-Changin', the 2.30-minute clip swoops into the lives of the Royal Family as tensions rise with the world war approaching.

"The country is bankrupt, our national security is in tatters," the narration goes in the backdrop of cold war paranoia, historic events including the Aberfan disaster of 1966 and the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

There is an air of crisis and inner politics with Prince Charles' (Josh Connor) early romance with Camilla Shand (Emerald Fennell) and the appointment of Labour prime minister Harold Wilson (Jason Watkins). As Prince Charles is appointed as the Prince of Wales, he is advised: "Never turn your back on true love and watch out for your family."

Written by Peter Morgan, the trailer shows Britain in a dark, turbulent zone as Colman ponders upon her situation. "On days like today, ask yourself in the time I’ve been on the throne what have I actually achieved? This country was still great when I came to the throne, all that has happened on my watch is the place has fallen apart," she says.

Expect to see more rivalry between elder sister and younger sister Margaret (Helena Bonham-Carter) and Prince Phillip's (Tobias Menzies) involvement in the Queen's life. The trailer has been captioned: "As Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman) faces a rapidly changing Britain, her family continues to struggle against the needs of the monarchy and the wants of their fracturing personal lives."

The third season arrives on Netflix on November 17 and by the first looks, the cast seems perfect to replace them for the time jump as most of them look quite similar to their real-life counterparts and are widely recognized for their performances.
