Entering 'The Circle' as single and ready to mingle has always had its perks, as Season 2 champion DeLeesa, who portrayed a single-dad version of her real-life spouse Trevor, will tell you. 'The Circle' Season 5: Chaz Lawery and Raven Sutton reign as top influencers twice in a row
Raven, 26, from Maryland, entered 'The Circle' dancing proudly and boldly flaunting her disability. When she first laid eyes on Marvin, the deaf twerking queen found her match. "If I see a cute girl in 'The Circle' that's my kryptonite right there," the 27-year-old chemical engineer from Houston claimed in his welcome bio. It only took four episodes for the viewers, and a few nights and flirty chats between the two, to see their mutual attraction come to light.
Raven's initial thought when Marvin sent his first message to the Circle chat was "love at first chat." She dived right into Marvin's profile and nearly lost her calm, and for good reason! When Marvin claimed his signature dance routine to be a "striptease," Raven didn't hold back (or let Paris aka her interpreter) from expressing how much she would want to be a part of his audience. Marvin expressed his desire to speak with Raven following the first ranking of the season. Aside from being one of the most influential members of the group, she appeared to be a girl he liked. He decided to switch things up in order to get to know her better. Soon, the two joined forces with another top influencer of the week, Chaz Lawery, to establish #TeamMelanin. Marvin added that if he had the opportunity to get to know Raven better, he could see them being a thing. Raven admitted that Marvin starting the group chat with her and Chaz made her day!
Later, during his group conversation with the boys in the circle, Marvin called Raven "really sexy," referring to her as #AQueen. Raven was quick to share her thoughts when Brian Clark, playing as his daughter Brittney, claimed she had her sights on a number of the "chocolate men" in the group. "She's probably looking at Marvin, which, she can look, but don't touch," she said. "I can't lie," she continued. "Marvin has caught my attention from day one. I'm definitely curious to see if there's a spark there." She stated that she wants every girl to know that she is interested in Marvin and that she expects them to respect her decision.
Marvin took advantage of the opportunity to take his shot in Season 5's first Truth or Dare game. He told Raven that he felt she was attractive, proving that their interest was mutual.
During their first private conversation, the two discussed their love of jollof rice and striptease. Raven used the chance to teach him how to spell 'fire' in sign language when Marvin expressed an interest in learning ASL. Marvin got it right on the first try and refered to her as #MyNumberOne. Raven stated after the conversation that she felt much closer to Marvin and that there was clearly a spark between them. During the season's second rating, Marvin chose Raven as his number one, expecting that now that they had a connection, she would keep him safe in the future. Raven, on the other hand, chose Marvin as her first pick since she thought he exceeded her expectations. She could sense their chemistry.
Raven uploaded an image of herself in a bikini when asked to share their wildest picture, saying, "I definitely want Marvin to drop his jaw on this one." And girl, she succeeded, and how! The image made Marvin worry if he could keep up. But, no, the man with three degrees did not flunk. Raven 'drowned' in a tube pool after seeing his shirtless blonde picture in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. When Raven was given the chance to save someone before the season's first REAL elimination, she chose Marvin. "I decided to choose this player because they earned my respect and I feel like they deserve to stay," she stated.
Do you believe Marvin and Raven will establish a loving relationship outside the Circle? Can they follow in the footsteps of John Franklin and Alyssa Ljubicich from Season 4? Fans will simply have to wait and see. To see how their connection develops, watch the first four episodes of 'The Circle' Season 5 on Netflix.
