Showtime’s blockbuster hit drama ‘The Chi’ has returned for Season 5 and fans cannot wait to see what lies ahead for their favorite character. In the final episode of Season 4, we saw everything wrapping up with a bow. The finale ended on a hopeful note for its characters and most importantly, Trig (Luke James) and Imani (Jasmine Davis) made peace with Shaad.

The ending gave us an idea that Season 5 will have a new direction and new hope. However, it seems things are looking bleak for Trig. We know how he wants to do something good for the community and keeps on helping people, trying hard to make people’s lives better. But the premiere episode of the Showtime series didn’t start on a happy note for the character.

Trig went ahead to meet Emmett in his restaurant and found out that Tiff has left Emmett after she felt that she doesn’t want to be his wife anymore. As a good friend, Trig tries consoling him and confirming if Emmett’s barbecue joint was still available for his proposal to Imani. As soon as he says that, someone throws a brick at Trig’s Wagon Window. Trig was shocked and started finding the person who did such an audacious thing. He sees Bakari laughing about what just happened and Trig confronted him, he said that he didn’t do anything.

Trig was really frustrated with him and didn’t think twice before hitting and punching him with full force. He starts choking him until he gained control of himself and everything was recorded by one of Bakari’s friends. A few moments later, Shaad showed him the video of him hitting Bakari and a certain part of the society has gone against him. Trig becomes the newest victim of cancel culture and they wanted everyone to cancel the community leader. So, Shaad and Trig decide to talk to Bakari and bring him into their team so that he can have a better life.

Elsewhere, Emmett and Tiff are no longer together. Emmett was having a dream about having sex with Keisha and Tiff got to know that he was having a dream about having sex with someone else. Emmett is jolted from his dream and sees that Tiff is ready with her bags. She is about to leave and even though Emmett tries to stop her, she doesn’t listen and heads for her mother’s house. His boner leaves her to believe that dream didn’t include her.

So, it seems both friends are having a hard time in their personal lives. We hope, things get better as the season progresses.
