Terrifying moment shark 'lunges' at 8-yr-old boy and 'bites him on chest during fishing trip with family
LADY MUSGRAVE ISLAND, AUSTRALIA: A viral TikTok video has sent shockwaves through viewers after an 8-year-old boy was attacked by a shark during his fishing trip. However, brave Manni Alam claims that his terrifying encounter with the shark won't stop him from going back into the sea.
In the TikTok video, the boy appears to climb onto a boat to show his father, Radwan Alam, what he caught in the water after spearfishing on Lady Musgrave Island in the Great Barrier Reef on the Queensland coast. His father could be heard asking him what he had brought back.

What really happened?
The horrifying TikTok video shows Manni Alam holding onto a ladder at the stern of the boat and hoisting a coral trout onto the diving platform. Before he could mutter anything, a shark emerges from the water hitting Manni Alam in the chest and jaw and giving him a bite. Apparently the shark was trying to catch the trout, but missed it after the boy threw it onto the boat's diving tower.
Is Manni Alam OK?
The video maker confirmed Manni Alam suffered a small scratch but overall was unhurt in the close shark encounter, as per Daily Mail. "It just felt like a little bit, it hurt a little bit on the chest but that's it," Manni Alam told Nine News. The shark swiftly let go of the 8-year-old and "disappeared" leaving Manni Alam with a scratch, reported the source. "Anyone that's dived, knows that it's a very common thing when you're diving," dad Radwan Alam said. When asked if the random shark attack made Manni Alam fearful to stop diving, he courageously responded, "I'm going back in."
At the end of the TikTok video, it appears the videomaker was not impressed by Manni Alam's catch. "That's crap, the s******t fish in the ocean, why did you even shoot it?" the man could be heard telling Manni Alam. "Because it kept swimming up to me, it didn't stop it was dumb was just dumb to keep on swimming up to me like 'come shoot me' so I just shot it," Manni Alam responded. "You are going to be eating it yourself," the filmmaker told the boy. It was later revealed in comments the coral trout was given to a local.
