Who is Tenoch Huerta? Internet pins hopes on Namor solo film after ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ role
One thing Marvel Studios is doing right is the quantity of content. 2022 was a heavy year and it ends with 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,' which hits theaters Nov 11 and is one of the most anticipated films of any Phase. The titular character was previously played by Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer. 2018's 'Black Panther' became a cultural phenomenon and the sequel seems to go in the same direction. This time, one of the most famous Marvel Comics characters, Namor, is coming to the MCU, played by Tenoch Huerta. Fans are already hoping for a Namor solo movie.
The 41-year-old Mexican actor makes his MCU debut in the Ryan Coogler-directed sequel. Huerta shares the screen with actors who play important MCU roles, such as Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Martin Freeman, Mabel Cadena, and others. The actor plays Namor, the mutant son of a human sea captain and a princess of the mythical undersea kingdom of Atlantis. The film follows the aftermath of the death of King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and how his family paves the way for the kingdom amidst growing threats. As the actor prepares to break cultural barriers and enjoy serious commercial fame, his resume consists of the Netflix series "Narcos: Mexico" and the film "The Forever Purge."

Who is Tenoch Huerta?
José Tenoch Huerta Mejia is a Mexican actor born in Ecatepec de Morelos, state of Mexico, in 1981. He got his love for the film from his father, who was a movie buff. He then enrolled Huerta in an acting course with María Elena Saldana. He had his first role in 2016 in the film 'Asi del precipicio' in a supporting role. His career took off in 2015 when he appeared as Carlos Mamami in the biographical disaster survival film 'The 33.' Things shifted into high gear when he starred in the Netflix series 'Narcos: Mexico' as Rafael Caro Quintero. He later joined 'The Purge' franchise in the fifth film, titled 'The Forever Purge.'
Huerta talked about Namor in the movie to NBC News and said, "When they decide to give this background to Namor, you know, this new background — Mesoamerican culture, especially Mayan culture — I think they nailed it. Because it’s the right moment to do it in a way, on one hand, and on the other hand, it's important for many people, especially kids. It’s a way to say, 'Eh, there’s nothing wrong on you. You should be proud of who you are. And the melanin in your skin ... it’s OK and it’s beautiful.'" Fans are now rooting for a solo Namor movie so that they can see Huerta more in action. While talking to Digital Spy, he also talked about the possibility of a spin-off saying "I would like it but I don't know. It depends on what Kevin Feige says he wants. It depends on the inbox. It depends on the people, and how many tickets they buy. So please: buy a lot of tickets."
