CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE: ‘Teen Mom’ star Maci Bookout loves her boxer pup, Bonnie, with all her heart. So naturally, it is the most devastating moment for the star to discover that Bonnie's health is not doing well. The reality star recently announced the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post, stating that she is trying her best to stay positive.

Maci revealed in her caption that she had been taking Bonnie to the vet regularly for some time. And now she has received a devastating diagnosis of Bonnie’s health. While posting heart-melting photos of her pooch, she wrote in her caption, “After months of vet/specialist visits and praying for answers, we finally received a diagnosis for our sweet Bonnie Girl,” declaring the news to her fans and followers on Instagram. Viewers of her show were first introduced to puppy Bonnie in 2015, when Maci bought her as a gift for her eldest son, Bentley.

Maci continued to tell her followers, “Although the diagnosis is not at all what we hoped for, I am trying my best to stay positive and be thankful for the short amount of time we have left with her,” making it clear that sweet Bonnie does not have a long time left. Maci intends to “spoil” Bonnie in her last few weeks with the family. “Bonnie is already our pretty-pretty spoiled princess, but we will definitely be taking her “spoiled-ness” to new heights in the final weeks she is here with us," she wrote.

Asking her fans to pray for Bonnie, Maci continued, “All that we can give her will never amount to all that she continues to give us. Please pray for comfort and peace for my bestest friend, my Bonnie Girl.💜🐶✨🐾” She finished her message with a quote from Thom Jones, “Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them, filling an emptiness we don’t even know we have.”

Her fans created a Reddit thread in honor of Bonnie, where many wrote about their own experiences and expressed their condolences. A Reddit user wrote, “That is so sad 😞 Poor Bonnie. Dogs are part of your family, I wish Maci and her family all the best in the time left with Bonnie.” While another added, “This is heartbreaking - it’s so hard losing a four-legged family member. :'(" Another user said, “Yup it definitely is. We put my dog down in 2015 and I haven’t owned a dog ever since. I never knew how hard this would be until I experienced it myself. I do want another one but I’m scared.” While a fan grimly noted, “Bonnie will be in good company in doggy heaven with the rest of our precious pups who have crossed over.”

One person recalled Bonnie's first appearance with Maci and said, “Poor sweet girl 💔 I remember when she made her first appearance on the show and she was already full of sass and a lot of tude …. Heaven is going to gain such a very sassy girl soon.” While another added, “That’s sad. She’s been good with her pets especially compared to the rest of the cast.” A social media user also added, “She’s one of the few cast members who is a responsible, loving pet owner. That makes this extra sad because not only is a pet passing away, but the whole family will feel it because Bonnie is a beloved member of their family.”
