Ryan Edwards and Maci Bookout have had different opinions about what is right when it comes to parenting and it looks like history is repeating itself. The latest episode (May 26) of the show saw Maci motivating Bentley to lose weight for his wrestling conception. Maci understood Bentley was serious about wrestling and was eager to make it to the state championship.

However, to make it to the state championship it was revealed he might have to shed some weight to be in the right category. Maci even hired a private tutor to make sure Bentley was set for the competition. She urged him to be strict with his diet and exercise regularly. While Bentley agreed, Ryan did not seem happy and thought it would stunt his growth. He later opened up about his thoughts to his wife, Mackenzie Edwards. Ryan admitted that he would have loved it if he had more say in what Bentley was doing. He hinted the idea of losing more weight was not a good one while adding that Bentley wanted to lose weight because there were some other guys who were heavier than him.

Ryan further added that he was young and it was enough for him to wrestle in a certain way rather than losing weight. While he thought it was a bad move to get on a diet at such a young age, Ryan admitted it would have been alright if Bentley had been older. He revealed that getting on a diet to make it into a team or get a scholarship for college would have been a good reason to get on the diet. Mackenzie agreed and stated that he was just a child and it was important for him to enjoy himself. She added that it wasn't healthy to starve oneself to lose weight. Ryan agreed and said that someone around him brainwashed him into thinking it was fine. Mackenzie added that learning these things at a young age could have a lasting impact.

Meanwhile, Maci was still strict with Bentley when it came to losing weight. She was not happy to find out that Bentley had cheated on his meal. Despite this, Bentley was able to lose enough weight to get approved for the match. Things worked out for him and he came third. While his hard work paid off, it looks like Ryan is still having a hard time accepting that it was necessary for Bentley to diet.

'Teen Mom OG' airs on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET on MTV.
