Tayler Sullivan: Kansas waitress in 'disbelief' over $2,200 Christmas tip, splits it with co-workers
WICHITA, KANSAS: Tayler Sullivan, a waitress at Delano's Diner in Kansas, received $2,200 as a tip from a group of 22 guests. Sullivan claims she was in "disbelief" to receive this massive amount as a tip.
According to New York Post, she said, “It was time for them to pay, and I asked how they were going to do their checks, and they said they will be all together. Then I bring the check over, and all the family and friends started whipping out their phones, and they got out a large amount of money, like, ‘Alright, each year during the Christmas holiday we all bring out $100, and so we are gonna let you keep all the money.'”

She added, “It’s 22 of us, and we all brought $100, so that’s $2,200 for you to take home. … And we hope you enjoy your Christmas, and that everything goes well for you.” The waitress also agreed, “Working in customer service, you never expect that amount of money coming in at a table. Ever." Sullivan also said, "I ended up tipping everyone here at the diner part of the money. I work with them every day. They're like my family. I [wanted] them to have a good Christmas as well, even if it was only just a little bit. Because you never know what you might get — and what goes around comes around."
Meanwhile, as previously reported by MEAWW, in a similar incident in 2021, Ryan Brandt, a server at the Oven and Tap restaurant in Bentonville, Arkansas, got a hefty tip of $4,400 to be split between her and another server. However, she was soon asked by the restaurant manager to split the tip among all her co-workers, which was never in the clauses of her job. When she questioned about the splitting of the tip, Brandt was fired from the job. The one who tipped her this considerable sum, Grant Wise, later stated, "I'm so saddened to hear that the girl we tipped the other night at our $100 Dinner Club has been fired from her job. I don't fully understand why this would happen to what seems like such a sweet and kind-hearted woman. Nonetheless, I'm committed to showing her that there are great people in the world that will do good when they can." Updating about Brandt's present situation, Wise shared that she has got a new job and has been greatly helped by many reasonable minds.
