Taylen Mosley: Autopsy report reveals 2-year-old Florida boy found in alligator's jaws drowned to death after mom's brutal murder
ST PETERSBURG, FLORIDA: The cause of death has been revealed for 2-year-old Taylen Mosley who was found in an alligator's jaws last month a day after the brutal murder of his mother Pashun Jeffrey. A medical examiner has determined that the Florida toddler drowned to death after his mother was found stabbed more than 100 times.
The St Petersburg Police Department revealed on Monday, April 24 that an autopsy performed by the Pinellas County Medical Examiner confirmed that the 2-year-old Mosley drowned, as per WTSP. The 20-year-old was discovered stabbed more than 100 times in the bathroom of her Lincoln Shores apartment on March 30, and her child was reported missing.

A frenzied search for Taylen ended tragically the next day, when authorities discovered his body in the jaws of an alligator in Lake Maggiore, not far from his house. It dropped the body when a cop shot a round at the reptile. "We are sorry that it had to end this way," police Chief Anthony Holloway stated at the time. The toddler's father, 21-year-old Thomas Mosley, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the murders of his son and Jeffrey.
What did investigators say?
Mosley allegedly stabbed Jeffrey just a few hours after she hosted a party to commemorate his 21st birthday, according to investigators. Then, it's claimed, he brought his small son to the alligator-infested Lake Maggiore and either placed or threw the child into the water. No motive has been revealed in the deaths of the mother and boy.
'Sweet and happy toddler'
On April 7, mourners came together in St Petersburg to lay Jeffery and Taylen Mosley to rest. Taylen Mosley, according to Jeffery's family members, was a "sweet and happy toddler" who "loved his mom." Her family claimed that she would FaceTime the boy during work breaks "so that she could spend every moment possible with him."
When is Thomas Mosley's next court hearing?
The accused man last appeared in front of a court on Tuesday, per Fox 13. The hearing was to determine if prosecutors would be permitted to access Mosley's medical records from the hospital where he had treatment for severe lacerations to his arms. The case will undergo another status hearing on May 5. Mosley is being held in jail without bond. A bloody Gucci shoeprint inside Jeffrey's apartment and a bloody fingerprint on a cleaning bottle, according to an affidavit, connected Mosley to the crime scene.
