On March 30, 2023, Pashun was found dead on her Lincoln Shores Apartments' bathroom floor at around 2.30 pm. This happened after her family gathered in her apartment, where she had been living for a month, and Thomas, for a few weeks, on the afternoon of March 29.

The family members left around 5.15 pm, leaving the boy and his parents in the home. According to arrest records, Thomas left the apartment at 8.42 pm and traveled to the Lake Maggiore area, which is located south of downtown St Petersburg, reports AL.com. The lake is near Dell Holmes Park, where Taylen’s body was found in an alligator’s mouth, Fox 13 reported. The toddler is believed to have been thrown into the lake by his father Thomas Mosley.

Thomas, who left the apartment, arrived at his mother’s St Petersburg house, 10 blocks from the lake after 9 pm with “severe lacerations” to his hands and arms. Following this, Thomas, who police say may have mental health issues, got admitted to St Anthony’s Hospital. According to the records, the wounds were “consistent with injuries caused by slippage during a knife attack.”
