Idaho massacre: Suspect Bryan Christopher Kohberger in CUSTODY in brutal slaying of 4 University students

MOSCOW, IDAHO: Investigators have a 28-year-old suspect, Bryan Christopher Kohberger, in custody in connection to the November 13 killing of four students of the University of Idaho. The suspect was arrested in Pennsylvania, marking a major breakthrough in the case that has been under investigation for more than a month with myriad of theories and suspicions surfacing around the horrifying murders.
Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were stabbed to death in their rental off-campus home in Idaho while they were asleep during the early hours of the day. According to the Moscow Police Department, the murderer killed the young students using “an edged weapon such as a knife” and believes it to be targeted murder, reports the New York Post.

The bodies were found inside the rental home by a friend of the slain students, who called 911 to the scene on Kings Road. The investigation that was conducted on a wider scope was carried out by the local Moscow police, who were joined by the State police and the FBI, as per the New York Post report.
The authorities did not release major details of the investigation to the public while it was underway. Collecting thousands of shreds of evidence, the police department went through around 2,000 tips relating to the heinous killings of the students.
According to the Daily Mail, the official said that the crime scene they arrived at was “the worst they’ve seen". Photos shared by the news outlet showed blood from the scene oozing down the rental home structure. The University was rocked by the gruesome murder that took place in November at a time when students were going home for the Thanksgiving holiday break.
“Xena was so happy and loved, and it breaks my heart,” Xana's sister, Jazzmin Kernodle said in a text message. “She was so lighthearted, and always lifted up a room. She made me such a proud big sister, and I wish I could have had more time with her… She had so much life left to live,” said Jazzmin, while she told the Associated Press about her family's anxious wait for investigation updates.
The four slain students were friends from school and were also members of sororities and fraternities. “One lucky girl to be surrounded by these people every day,” wrote Goncalves about Mogen in an Instagram photo shared hours before the grizzly killings. The duo Chapin and Kernodle appeared to be in a relationship.
According to the university, Mogen was a senior majoring in marketing from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Goncalves was a senior majoring in general studies from Rathdrum, Idaho. Chapin, originally from Mount Vernon, Washington majored in recreation, sport, and tourism management, and Kernodle, a native of Post Falls, Idaho, was a junior marketing major, reports the New York Post.
