'Survivor: Island of the Idols' Season 39 Episode 7: Fans call Kellee Kim a 'strategic mastermind' after she fools her tribe and saves Dean

After the Lairo tribe lost another tribal council, the entire tribe decided to vote Dean out but Kellee had a whole different plan.
UPDATED NOV 7, 2019

Kellee Kim made a massive strategic move and fans claim she is a mastermind queen for pulling it off without any of her other tribemates suspecting her, on 'Survivor: Island of the Idols' season 39.

'Survivor: Island of the Idols'  season 39 aired on Wednesday with episode 7, and it was definitely a nailbiting episode, with a shocking elimination. But what stood out throughout the entire episode is the move Kellee pulled off when she had a moment of inspiration and decided to give the immunity idol to Dean prior to the tribal council. Kellee had received the immunity idol when she went to the Island of Idols early into the season and won the task that Sandra Diaz and Boston Rob gave her.

After Lairo lost another tribal council yet again, the entire tribe decided to vote Dean out but Kellee had a whole different plan in her mind because she didn't want to let him go home yet.

Kellee's move was one of the most daring and perfectly executed blindsides this season. After she and Dean had bonded over a common friend, who was Dean's ex and Kellee's friend in business school, she didn't want him to go home. After she realized her immunity idol will be of no use after that night's tribal council, she decided to give her idol to Dean, in order to vote out Jack from the tribe. She also told Noura to vote Jack out and put on a perfect show like she had no idea what was happening around her.

When Dean took out his idol, she pretended to be shocked as everyone else. Kellee went the extra mile and wrote down Dean's name in the tribal council so that no one would doubt her. Successfully her plan worked, and she managed to keep Dean in the competition right when the merge was about to happen.

Taking to social media post the episode, fans couldn't help but rave about her strategic plan calling Kellee a mastermind and queen. "@kellee_kim 4 president. I’d literally become a America citizen just to vote 4 queen Kellee #Survivor," a fan wrote on Twitter. Another viewer stunned by what they had watched wrote: "kellee really snapped huh? give her idol to dean, told him n noura to vote for jack, flushed jamal's idol, n broke the asian woman's curse by making it to the merge! n don't forget her acting skills when dean played that idol. strategic mastermind queen."

"@kellee_kim You are an absolute superstar. The eloquence and fierceness made me go from someone with #survivor fatigue, to feeling like that 11 year old girl watching season one for the first time thinking "wow, this is a microcosm of society". That was a tribal for the ages." wrote a fan.

" WOULD DIE FOR KELLEE!!!!!!!!!! #survivor WE ARE READY FOR HER TO WIN. GIVE ME A FEMALE POC WINNER BREAKING A FIVE MAN-WINNERS IN A ROW STREAK!!!!" shared another fan.
