'Euphoria' Season 3 reveals first five minutes ahead of premiere with Rue already in trouble
‘Euphoria’ Season 3 is finally here with a highly anticipated storyline after an exciting time jump. The new season will see Rue Bennett (played by Zendaya) navigating adulthood as she works to pay off her debt to Laurie, a drug lord. Ahead of the Season 3 premiere, HBO released the first five minutes of the show. The short clip features Rue already getting into trouble as she smuggles drugs while crossing the deserts of Chihuahua, Mexico. As she speeds up to cross the border using a makeshift ramp, her car gets stuck. She then gets out of the car with her suspiciously large bag and walks down the ramp, leaving her car in the desert.
Fans are now eager to see how things turn out for her when the first episode premieres. ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 is set five years after the finale of the previous installment. It will focus on Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney), Nate (played by Jacob Elordi), Laurie (played by Marthe Kelly), Jules (played by Hunter Schafer), Maddy (played by Alexa Demie), and Rue, now navigating new challenges. They will be joined by new cast members, including Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rosalía, Toby Wallace, Marshawn Lynch, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, Priscilla Delgado, James Landry Hebert, and Anna Van Patten.
One of the new characters, Alamo, played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, will feature in Episode 1 as the leader of a drug operation. During the ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Hollywood Premiere, the actor spoke about how his character will intertwine with Rue's story. “For me, I think it was about injecting charm, humor, and a seductiveness that you couldn’t resist him or his world. Because I think it has to be attractive to Rue, you know, to be able to pull her in and then, you know, deal with her how he chooses,” he said, as per Deadline. His character will add danger and mystery to Rue's life as she takes on a new role in the upcoming season.
While excitement is high, the show recently got a disappointing update. In an appearance on 'The Drew Barrymore Show,' Zendaya was asked if Season 3 would be the show's last, and she said, "I think so, yeah." Barrymore added, "I never want to ask questions like that, because it’s not my business, and yet, is this to be enjoyed knowing [it will end]?” The lead actress then responded, “Yes, I think so.” Fans can now witness how Rue will navigate life after the time jump from high school to adulthood.
