'Supergirl' Season 5: The Arrowverse show may introduce 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' through Nia aka The Dreamer

This move will also be a different approach than how 'The Flash' and 'Arrow' introduced the 'Crisis'. The Monitor was the bearer of bad news in their case, and for Kara and Co. the alarming news may come through Nia.

Unlike its neighbor Arrowverse shows, 'Supergirl' season has done remotely nothing to set up the imminent 'Crisis on Infinite Earths'. The Girl of Steel played a major role in the 12-part comic that also saw her sacrifice herself to save the multiverse. 'Supergirl' will be the first series to kick off the crossover on December 8 and it comes as a surprise that seven episodes so far have absolutely no subplots regarding the multiverse-shattering battle. Despite Mar Novu aka The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) unleashing Malefic (Phil LaMarr) in the season 4 finale, there's been no presence of the cosmic entity in it.

And since we're talking about Malefic, the exiled brother of the Martian Manhunter, J'onn J'onnz (David Harewood) has been a major part of the season 5 story. Also in focus was the complex relationship between Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) and Kara (Melissa Benoist). The show also finally introduced the Leviathan, the mysterious, nefarious organization teased in season 4. In the mix was also storylines about Acrata (Julie Gonzalo as Andrea Rojas), a character with shadow abilities.

With just an episode to go before the 'Crisis', it is obvious the final few minutes will most definitely bring the crossover story in play. One of the popular theories according to Screenrant is the possibility of the show introducing the impending war through Nia aka The Dreamer (Nicole Maines). An essential part of team Supergirl, it is possible that she will be the first one to sense the 'Crisis' with Nia probably experiencing a vision. The series has firmly established the character's precognitive powers and this could be one of the ways it could set up the fact that the Multiverse is heading towards doom.

This move will also be a different approach than how 'The Flash' and 'Arrow' introduced the 'Crisis'. The Monitor was the bearer of bad news in their case, and for Kara and Co. the alarming news may come through Nia. The bigger question is, will she survive the battle?

The official synopsis of the first chapter of the five-part series reads: "THE KICKOFF TO THE EPIC TELEVISON CROSSOVER EVENT, CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS - The Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) sends Harbinger (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) to gather the worlds’ greatest heroes - Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Batwoman (guest star Ruby Rose), White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz), The Atom (guest star Brandon Routh) and Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) - in preparation for the impending Crisis."

"With their worlds in imminent danger, the superheroes suit up for battle while J’onn (David Harewood) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) recruit Lena (Katie McGrath) to help them find a way to save the people of Earth-38. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner & Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Derek Simon & Jay Faerber."

'Supergirl' season 5 will be the first Arrowverse show to air 'Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 1' on December 8.
