'Sunny' Episode 6 Preview: Cat-and-mouse chase ends as Yakuza emerge from shadows

KYOTO, JAPAN: 'Sunny', streaming on Apple TV+, has reached its mid-point with Episode 5, introducing enough mystery while maintaining suspense for the upcoming episodes.

Suzie Sakamoto (Rashida Jones) has already sensed danger after discovering Masa's (Hidetoshi Nishijima) secret identity as a roboticist and a complicated connection to Yakuza.

When someone broke into her house in 'Sunny' Episode 4, her new friend Mixxy (annie the clumsy) stepped up and offered help.

What happens in 'Sunny' Episode 5?

In 'Sunny' Episode 5, Mixxy, Suzie and Sunny escape Kyoto to seek refuge at a remote farmhouse owned by Mixxy's family. When Mixxy goofs up about the shuttle service, they have to walk through the woods.

However, Mixxy loses her way and doesn't tell until its too late. They spot a suspicious man in the woods who was at the station and they have to fend off a bear in the middle of the night as well.

After spending hours, walking cluelessly, they finally reach Mixxy's farm the next morning.

Upon reaching the farm, a little bird that Sunny picked up from the jungle, dies. At the funeral for the bird, Suzie breaks into tears, as she misses her son.

Sunny also has a flashback, recalling a moment of itself being packed while Masa came to take it somewhere.

Later at night, Sunny tells Suzie about the flashback and promises to try and access other locked memories as well.

The next morning, Sunny is missing. Suzie finds a note from under its pillow with a fake finger, that belongs to Hime (YOU).

What to expect in 'Sunny' Episode 6?

The finger in 'Sunny' Episode 5 implies that Hime has already tracked down Suzie to the remote location. After the long cat-and-mouse chase for five episode, Suzie will finally have an official meeting with Yakuza.

The official synopsis for 'Sunny' Episode 5 reads, "Suzie officially meets Hime and her friends. Noriko learns to master the game of shogi."

Apple TV+ follows a weekly release policy for 'Sunny'. As per the schedule, 'Sunny' Episode 6 will drop on the streaming platform on August 7, 2024.

The episode is titled 'Kyoto Manju, So Delicious' and it has a duration of 30 minutes.
