Sun Valley Lodge conference: Full list of attendees at 'billionaire summer camp'
An upcoming Idaho conference dubbed as a 'billionaire summer camp' is expected to see the likes of all the tech and entertainment giants gather for a fun retreat amid the lush, rolling hills of Sun Valley. The annual invite-only conference is held at the Sun Valley Lodge and is thrown by investment bank Allen & Company. Bringing together some of the most established leaders from the worlds of film, technology, design and sports each year, the bonanza was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and this year's event will pay close attention to ensure all protocols so it doesn't turn into a super spreader hotspot.
Namely, some of the mandates are that attendees will have to be fully vaccinated as well as provide proof of negative Covid-19 tests, according to the Wall Street Journal. But that shouldn't be a problem for the attendees who pretty much are at the pinnacle of whatever field they dabble in. With the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Lachlan Murdoch having attended the event earlier, here's a look at all the big names expected to return to the festivities this year when the five-day event kicks off on July 6.

Who is attending the Sun Valley Lodge conference?
Based on what the Journal reported, all streaming giant bosses are expected to show up in this year's Sun Valley Lodge event. The list includes the likes of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, who has previously attended the event and will be joined by his replacement Andy Jassy, who takes over as the company's CEO once Bezos steps down this week. Discovery chief David Zaslav and Netflix’s Reed Hastings and Ted Sarandos. Also on the list of attendees is Comcast's Brian Roberts and WarnerMedia Chief Executive Officer Jason Kilar.
In 2019, the list of attendees also saw Facebook bosses Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg. Disney's Bob Iger was also among the attendees along with 23andMe CEO Anne Wojcicki. Rupert Murdoch's son, Lachlan Murdoch, who is now the CEO of Fox Corporation also attended the event in 2019. PayPal CEO Daniel Schulman, Instagram COO Marne Levine, McDonald's chief Steve Easterbrook and billionaire media executive Shari Redstone were also present. In 2014, ESPN boss John Skipper attended the event and so did Walt Disney's Tom Saggs.
What is the conference about?
According to the publication, the conference primarily sees movers and shakers discuss and somewhat unofficially close on deals that go on to have a greater impact on the rest of the regular world. Starting all the way in 1982, the conference's founder Herbert Allen, who co-founded Allen & Company with his brother Charles, had to practically beg invitees to attend the event.
These days, guests of the conference arrive by private jets at the nearby Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey. They are then chauffeured through 15 miles of picturesque hillside as they are taken to the lodge. The beauty of the surroundings isn't the only golden experience as some of the biggest deals of the business world have happened at Sun Valley Lodge conference. This includes the 1995 purchase of Capital Cities/ABC by Disney, Comcast's acquisition of NBCUniversal in 2009, Verizon's 2015 purchase of AOL and Bezos purchasing The Washington Post in 2013.
