Stephen Miller trolled for being called ‘immigration expert’ after slamming Alejandro Mayorkas’ border comments

In a recent interview with Fox News, Donald Trump’s former advisor Stephen Miller slammed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of Joe Biden’s administration over remarks regarding the border crisis. An article in the Daily Wire observes Miller as an “Immigration Expert” and states that Miller said the Democrats’ response to the issue is an “offense” to human reasoning.

He spoke in response to a clip shown by the host Laura Ingraham during an interview in which Mayorkas reportedly says, “We do not have the capacity now to address the asylum seekers’ claim, because that system was dismantled in its entirety by the prior administration. We have to address those implications, not only for the benefit of the communities in the United States, but for the migrants themselves.”

Reacting to the statement Miller said, “The comment from Secretary Mayorkas is an offense to human intelligence and reason. When we left office, the border was fully secure. If you came illegally, you were detained and you were safely returned home. That is the definition of border security, that if someone crosses illegally, border agents can apprehend them, and then they can be safely returned to the country they came from.”

He further notes that the last administration had the “system in place”. Miller said, “Because we had deals with Mexico. We had deals with Central America; we reformed our asylum regulations. We reformed our intake procedures; we expedited return flights home; we had charter flights leaving every single day to have a safe, secure, humane border.”

In the later segment of the interview, he criticized Mayorkas’s fellow politicians for dismantling “the most effective asylum system that had ever been created in this country.”

“And I’ll say one other thing. While they’re pretending to be compassionate, not only are their plans deeply injuring American families and American communities, but they’re destroying the Northern Triangle,” Miller continued before adding, “Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador cannot possibly succeed if this mass exodus of young people is allowed to continue. Those countries won’t have a future. They’re sentencing those countries to generations of poverty and misery.”

Meanwhile, Ingraham responds, “Well, look, this is about exploiting the labor of these migrants coming across the board.” She further adds, “It’s nothing humanitarian about it. There’s nothing compassionate about it. It’s so rich people can have cheap labor and businesses don’t have to pay the wages to American citizens.”

No sooner, people took to Twitter to troll Miller for his interview, with many making a joke of his reference as an “Immigration Expert”. One asked, "Uh... this is a picture of Stephen Miller. Where's the immigration expert this article refers to?" Another added, "Stephen Miller is an 'immigration expert' the same way Jeffrey Epstein was a 'pediatric proctologist'" One social media user said, "Whoops! You accidentally posted a picture of white nationalist Stephen Miller instead of the immigration expert." Another user shared a similar tweet, "stephen miller is an "immigration expert" the same way hannibal lecter is a people person". One wrote, "Well you are an expert on all things “inhumane” aren’t you?"
